You laid with Max against you as she is asleep while watching a romance movie on your TV. You couldn't help but think how beautiful she was with her hair perfectly laid on the pillows and her body, peacefully still. Her slow but still breathes made it all the better

After half an hour or so, Max woke up and smiles to you as she sat up against your headboard

"HI, love.." She says a little bit
groggy

You smile

"Hey, Red"

She blushes and rubs her eyes

"What's the time?"

You check your watch to see it's only 11am and you show her

She nods then looks at the ceiling it's a bit silent before she calls out your name

"Y/n?"

You look at her with response

"You've opened up to me about what happened to you.. and I'm not sure if I'm ready to tell you about me.. but I know I can trust you with it.. I was the first person you told.. now you'll be the first person to get the full reason.." She says calmly

You face her and cross your legs

"Well if you don't want to tell me right now, you don't have to but I'll listen if you do"

She sighs a little then searches for all the right words

"This town isn't regular.. it isn't normal.. it's cursed with monsters beneath us and around us hiding. Before you were here, a lot went on. There was something that killed me inside.. you asked about siblings.. and I had 1.. his name way Billy.." She says

You nod knowing that she's still gonna talk so you don't interrupt

"He was my stepbrother.. no matter how much of an asshole he was, I still felt a love towards him. He got possessed by some creature thing. Long story short the whole friend group went through hell, people almost died, some did but we barely knew them and Billy sacrificed himself for El and us... I watched it happen right in front of my eyes.. as the life in him slipped away-" she starts crying

You put a hand on her thigh to give her reassurance so she knows it's safe.

"But there is so much more.. after I felt so depressed.. like it was my fault.. like I could've done something to save him.. I washed for days after I had that blood all over me, didn't sleep for nights on end.. I saw him in my dreams.. and had nightmares. After this bigger creature, Vecna came in started killing people out of their own guilt. Their insecurities. Problems in their life. A few died and I almost did.. almost"

Your eyes widen as you hear about what could've happened to Max

"I heard clocks chiming whenever he was close or about to take me.. I was possessed.. and I was tortured by him then I ran.. I ran as fast as I could towards the music our friends played in my ears and then I got out.. but that wasn't the end.. the final beat was scary.. I saw Lucas.. but it wasn't him. I was possessed again.. but that was a hair away from dying.. I was so close to it.. when he possesses people.. he kills them by taking their eyesight.. ripping their eyes out, and breaking every bone.. he had me just about there.. until they saved me.. I was in a coma for a little bit.. I couldn't see.."

You have no words for Max.. but sorrow within your heart.. you can see the silent tears run down her face as she looks at you with pleading eyes

"I was so scared y/n.."

You go and lay against her and hold her

"I haven't ever opened up to anyone.. nobody but you.." She looks at you with glossy eyes
