Alex's Pov

Gloria, Melman, Marty and I had just made up a story of how I almost jump into a pool with cobras and throw balloons to all the kids in the world in my big act by doing trapeze americano, when the sea lion got the Tiger mad. He threw knives at the four of us, aiming mine to right between my legs, just a few inches away from my body. "Nyet!" He shouted. "Which one of you is leader?" He asked furiously. I looked at Marty nervously, and he pointed his hoofs at me.

The Tiger got closer to me and talked furiously about how stowaways weren't allowed in the circus. Suddenly Skipper made a hole in the desk and came into the wagon. "I hear you rusky, although the circus owner may allow stowaways if the stowaways just happen to be the owners" she said, grinning a bit. The Tiger looked cluelessly at her and the chimps showed him their jewels.

The next morning, the penguins and the chimps bought the circus, making us be one step closer of going back home. We arrived at Rom hours after and with that to the coliseum. I took Marty out for a walk, wanting to show him how great it was, I had never been there either, but I had a great instinct of how the place was as my ancestors had performed there for so many generations.

"The Coliseum, Marty. The original theatre in the round" I told him with fascination, "You know my ancestors used to perform here." "No kidding!" He said in a surprised and admiring way. "Yeah. Every show had a captive audience. Apparently they killed" I explained. "Sounds like a great gigg" He answered as I opened the curtain to the tent. As soon as we got in I told Marty to lay down, but he ended up telling a bunch of dogs that they were to cute to be in the real world. He hid behind me as they got mad at him, holding my shoulders. I pulled away, fearing he would notice it, but luckily he was way to excited to do so.

"Alright Animals! We may be your new owners, but we don't want to reinvent the circus wheel here, so just go out, do what you do" I told the circus animals, speaking in the name of all of my friends. "Just think of this as a fun warm-up for that promoter in London. Right Marty? Mart-Marty? " I turned around, searching for him.

He had feathers on his hair, just like the females horses did. "I want to be a circus horse" He said, looking at himself in a mirror. The horses went wild discussing what color they should paint him in. I sighed and shook my head. He was acting way too gay and that was the only thing that I didn't want the circus animals to know. That we were a couple.

I didn't want them to know it because maybe they could hurt Marty if they knew, but the jaguar girl, Gia, made me want to hide it from everyone so that I could be with her too. That was cruel for both, she and Marty, but I knew I would hurt myself if I didn't try to be with both of them. "Not being very low, are we Marty?" I asked, trying to keep my voice calm

Marty's Pov

I knew Alex had told me to keep it low, but I was terribly insecure about that jaguar girl. I had dreamed with her and the last time I had a precognitive dream was when I dreamed about Alex, Gloria, Melman and me being in an island and we ended up in Madagascar.

His reaction to the feathers I had put on my hair hadn't been good, so I had to try something better, something that would make him laugh even if he wanted me to keep it low.

I dressed up as a clown with the help of the spanish horses and surprised Alex dancing and singing. I thought he would laugh after all he loved clowns and every time I did something funny he called me his little clown, but his reaction was quite the opposite of what I had expected.

"Really?" He said, raising his eyebrows at me. I just shook my head and went back with the horses, sighing. "Marty, are you alright?" Esmeralda asked, noticing that something was wrong with me. "Yes, Yes I'm fine" I said fastly, trying to push their questions away. "It's about that lion boy, eh?" Esperanza had noticed it. I wasn't good at acting, not at all, I couldn't run away from the fact that I loved him. "You can trust us Marty, we won't tell anyone, we always keep our secrets between horses, right girls?" Ernestia said. "Right" Her sisters answered at the same time

"I don't want to be mean girls nor talk bad about anyone, but that jaguar girl...." I sighed. "Gia?" Esmeralda asked. "Yes, Gia" I said, looking down, "she's so pretty, I can't compete with her and ever since we met her Alex had asked distant with me..." The girls hugged me. "Hey, it's ok Marty, there are more fishes in the sea" Esmeralda said. "Yeah like Stefano" Ernestia added, grinning. "Ernestia!" Esmeralda called her attention. Esperanza laughed and I looked at them with confusion. "Stefano?" I asked. "Yes, Stefano the sea lion" Ernestia explained. "Have you even noticed the way he looks at you?" Esperanza asked

"But-But I'm with Alex... I-I love him..." I said sadly, "I could never do something like that to him..." Suddenly Gia's curtain fell down, showing her holding Alex, it looked like they were about to kiss. Alex looked at me in a concerned way. I tried to fight back my tears, I didn't want the rest of the animals to see me cry, I didn't even want him to see me cry.

I turned around and ran away, heading to my wagon, which was shared with Alex. I closed the door with the latch so he couldn't come in and started to cry, with my hoofs covering my face, feeling helpless and lost
