softened

you soften me,gentle murmurs
rolling from rounded lips in the dark, smooth
uncalloused hands grazing

                                                  over bones
too sharp through barely-there
flesh,

           words slipping from tamed
tongues polished by waves of emotion
that churn within the coastlines of my chest.
you tempered a tempest,you tamed a storm
and i became

a little less wild,a little less sharp,
screams sank slowly into silence, because for
you,i never needed more than a whisper-look
at me,look at me i'm

                                     a storm,i'm destructive,
and it's like pounding on the chest of someone
you know would never hit you back, love
is like lashing out

                                and encountering only

                                                                          serenity.
