Frank had always been afraid of Nico. His aura radiated impending doom, his eyes seemed to see into his soul, and his pale face rivaled the dead— what wasn't to fear? After helping the group save the world, Frank was slowly accustomed to him. He was the brother of his girlfriend after all. Ex, Frank reminded himself as he got to the door. He lifted his hand but he couldn't bring himself to knock.

Come with a plan, Leo had told him. Well thought out, clear sighted, a good plan. Frank could hear Leo speak in his mind. A nagging voice right behind the migraine that was starting to form. Or maybe it was his conscious? But when had his conscious started to sound like Leo?

"I can see you." Nico told Frank. A brush of cold air ran through Frank and he jerked away. He looked away from the intimidating door knob. Frank resisted the urge to shapeshift. The worst thing to do would be to start a fight.

"Whatever you did to her, I'll give you a solid five seconds to leave. If you don't, let's just say you'll be answering to my father for the rest of your existence." There was Nico's voice again. But where was it coming from.

"Nico– I—!" Frank saw a shadow shift from the corner of his eye. He stumbled back, hitting the base of his spine of sturdy stone. The minute he tried to relocate the shadow, it was gone.

"1," Frank felt terror stir in him. If he hadn't been scared before he was now.

"Nico, I–"

"One more word, Zhang, I dare you." Nico growled out. His teeth bared and head popping out of the shadows behind Frank. He screamed as the pale hand held his shoulder.

"2," he counted. Frank pulled himself away and started to run.

Sunlight bent around him. Shadows had chased his feet, nipping his ankles until he was well away from the cabin. The son of Mars wheezed and made the mistake of looking back.

Nico was there, placing his arm around a hunched over Hazel, and a few mauled zombies staring holes into Frank's psyche.

"Frank! Hey, wait up, man! A few of the younger ones wanted to get shown the move from earlier–"

Frank really had to stop running into people. The two hit the dirty and Frank's teeth slammed close. His jaw ached and he looked up.

"Sorry," he huffed. "I didn't– didn't see you there, Percy."

"You okay, you look like you've seen a ghost?"

Frank couldn't find it in himself to give a normal sounding answer.
