Daphne felt a weird shiver up her spine. She searched around for the source and her eyes landed on a boy. A nearly balded boy-Na'im-Daphne realised as she focused on the figure. He was chatting enthusiastically with Uwizz and that was when she saw it. A black shadow slid out from Na'im's back and sneakily rushed to her. ''Stop staring. You'll get both of us a scolding.'' the shadow whispered. Daphne quickly turned to look at the teacher, who was too engrossed in peppering questions at Jensen to notice. Daphne closed her eyes and sighed as she slowly felt her consciousness slipping away and connecting to a thousand doors at once,each with a unique design.
Daphne saw a black door with creepy vines locking the door. Daphne walked to the door and touched it gently, the door suddenly transformed into a mind like the one she had seen before. As she crept around, she noticed that the mind was awfully quiet and there were little sticks sticking out from nowhere. She cautiously touched one and saw a clip of the history lesson. ''These are his memories?''Daphne thought, as she started exploring his mind more. ''Yes, they are Daph now get out.You know the rules of telepathy.'' a voice like Na'im's stated. ''What do you mean? What rules of telepathy?'' Daphne queried, confused. ''Meet me outside of class. Immediately after school." Na'im stated, ''Plus, get out.'' Daphne saw the door again, and left.
After class, when the teacher finally left, Na'im pinned Daphne to the back of the class. ''What do you mean you don't know the rules of telepathy?'' Na'im asked, menacingly. ''Am I supposed to know them?'' Daphne asked, bewildered. Na'im leaned in closer and murmured,'' What do you mean are you supposed to know them? You forced me to memorise all of them too.'' Daphne nodded and muttered,''I-i really forgot them. Sorry.'' Na'im let her go and as Daphne started to get away, he grabbed her by her shirt and asked softly, ''Y-you're not really Daphne are you? Which dimension are you from?'' ''I-I don't know.'' Daphne replied hurriedly as she pulled away and took her bag before dashing off. That was such a strange lesson. Daphne scurried back to the orphanage and locked herself in her room. Why was this dimension so weird? Where is the Daphne from this dimension? What happened?
Knock knock
''Daph you have a visitor!'' the warden said as Daphne reluctantly unlocked the door and strolled outside. ''Na'im? What are you doing here?'' Daphne asked as she lifted up her head slowly, growing with rage with every word. ''Hear me out, ok? I can help you.Just come out... please?'' Daphne unwillingly unlocked the front door and stepped outside the door and made sure the lock was safely latched on again before asking,'' How are you gonna help me? And how do you know my address?'' ''One problem at one time.'' Na'im replied as he led Daphne to the void deck before taking out a green marble. He looked around anxiously as he threw the marble on the ground, and for a second, nothing happened. Until a purple oval started forming on the ground and grew to what seems like a portal.
''The portal isn't stabilised yet so I don't think you should-''Na'im started but stopped abruptly when Daphne started to stick a leg through the portal. " DAPHNE NO!'' Na'im shouted as Daphne jumped through the portal and into the unknown. Hesitantly, he put a leg through the portal and suddenly slipped into the portal. "AHHHHHH!'' he yelled as he shut his eyes and curled into a ball. "Mr Aiman. What is this atrocious behaviour?'' someone asked from somewhere above him. He opened his eyes and saw....Miss Tan.
Na'im stood up embarrassed, and bowed hastily as Miss Tan walked away awkwardly. So he was back in school? Where's Daphne? He tried to feel for shadows to bring the message to her but all he felt was...nothing. It was as if his powers didn't work here. ''Oi you there! Why are you standing around? Go home!'' Na'im turned around to find Mr Halim, his abilities mentor. ''Hey Mr Halim! If I may ask, why don't I feel any shadows around? It's like I can't control them anymore..?'' Na'im asked bewildered. Mr Halim looked like he had just seen a madman escape from the mental hospital as he asked,
'' Control shadows? What are you talking about? Powers don't exist y'know?''
