Na'im looked surprised then realised he was in Daphne's dimension which probably meant it was a parallel dimension to his but without powers. Na'im chuckled awkwardly and told Mr Halim hurriedly,'' Yeah I'm just really tired today I'm gonna head home now.''
''Home eh? Where you stay'in?'' the Daphne from that dimension, which Na'im has decided to call NPD—No Powers Daphne, asked rhetorically while giggling as they met at the front gate of Greendale. Na'im just rolled his eyes and asked,'' So? What's the plan?''
''Plan? What plan?''
'' I don't know. The Daphne in my dimension always has a plan..''
''A plan for what ? Studying? Are y'all not just students?''
''You're joking right?''
''What do you mean?
''We're part of a mafia in my dimension..''
Daphne's head started spinning again. What was going on? This man was insane for being in a mafia and thinking she could come up with plans for the mafia. Daphne backed away as she started to run away in fear. She thought she had ran quite far away from Na'im but then when she turned her head and hit into a soft wall. She looked up and saw Na'im staring back at her with a grim look. ''You can't outrun me y'know?'' Na'im said ''In case you forgot I'm in a mafia but I'll let you off the hook this time however..'' Na'im's eyes suddenly shone brightly under the evening sky. ''One more bad move and..'' he clenched his hand in a fist, leaving his thumb exposed, and swiftly swiped it against his neck. ''Understand?'' Daphne gulped and nodded quickly, afraid to irritate him.
''Good.''
Na'im started to walk away from Daphne as he reached for something in his pocket. He tossed a blue marble at her and she caught it. '' Only use it in the case of an emergency.'' he told her nonchalantly, as he started walking faster. Daphne shoved it into her pocket as she chased after him,'' So..where are we going?'' she asked as she struggled to catch up. ''We? There is no we. Leave me alone.'' Na'im said and in a blink of an eye, he vanished like he was never there before. Daphne looked around bewildered. How does he do that? Whatever. She checked her phone. 7pm. She was past her curfew. The orphanage was going to kill her. She rushed back to the all-too-familiar route to the orphanage and gasped in shock when she reached the back door, preparing to sneak in.
The headmistress was there tapping her foot impatiently while her face was rigid. "Well well well what do we have here? Daphne Chia. You are past your curfew. You know the rules you'll have to sleep outside today and no breakfast for you in the morning.'' Daphne nodded solemnly as she walked back to the route to the orphanage. A tear flowed out of her eye as another one followed and another. Why was today such a bad day? She tore a hand through her hair as she curled into a ball and rocked herself back and forth on the pavement bawling her eyes out.
Just like that, Daphne found herself sleeping on the cold hard rock pavement with the breezing wind as her fan. When Daphne woke up, she found Jensen, already dressed in polo tee staring at her. She rubbed her eyes groggily and managed to groan before Jensen threw her a comb and muttered,'' Managed to sneak this out for you. Tidy up you look like a rat in the dumpster.'' Daphne grinned at him as she picked up the comb. She gently brushed her other hand against her thigh where her pocket was to ensure the marble was still there, she took it out and examined it closely, she realised it looked exactly like the one Na'im had used to return her here.
Jensen observed Daphne quietly. An innocent, carefree girl, yet she seemed troubled. What was wrong? That was when he saw the marble in her hand— a portal marble Jensen realised after a while. He squatted down and signalled Daphne to give the marble to him. But Daphne shook her head in refusal, there was no way she was going to let Jensen ruin this for her. Seeing Daphne so protective of the marble, he let her have it but warned her to keep it safe where the headmistress won't find it. Daphne walked into the orphanage while Jensen was off to school. She was going to keep the marble around her all the time and made sure it was safe. She was sure of it. So after she changed into a fresh new polo tee, she grabbed her school bag and pld and ran to school, determined not to be late.
On the way to class, she heard a familiar voice shouting, ''Oi Daphne watch out!'' and as she whipped around, she fell face flat to the ground with a loud thud and suddenly the whole world turned black.
''Well looks like you already missed me haven't you Daphne?''
A dream-like Anish walked out of the darkness, and no matter how Daphne tossed and turned she couldn't move at all. That was when she saw the truth. Anish took off his wig and took water and poured it on himself. Daphne's jaw dropped at the sight of who he truly was.
