Run Away Princess

Chapter 3

In the mist of our excitement the room begins to shake, "What's happening?!" I shout over the sound of metal on metal. "I don't know!" KD shouts, then, it stops just as fast as it started. Clay puts a finger to his mouth and motions for everyone to listen, that's when I hear it, the sound of foot steps above us. "Follow me, quietly" Rona mouths then she turns and walks towards the door leading to the upstairs and presses on the stone beside it, "what is she doing? " I mouth to Dillon, "I don't know" he mouths back. The wall slides down and Rona motions for us to walk in, she hits another secret button and slips in as the door/ wall slides back into place. "Ok," she says "you can talk now, it's sound proof in here" Rona shouts. "Why didn't you tell us about this?" Sara questions in awe, "I don't know, something's are kept secret, just cause" Rona says, "like Dillon's sister" she says as she smirks and gives him a side glance, he's beat red, I probly am to. "Computer, on." Rona commands, "welcome Rona, I see you have guest" a feminine voice echoes, "meet my friends, Harris, Sara, KD, Wesley, Clay, and brother and sister, Dillon and Eve." she says pointing at us each in turn. "Turn on cameras" she says siting down in a chair the popped up, "Sit down" she says as seven more chairs appear. The wall flickers to life,or computer, whatever it is. In the room I was training in has castle guards roaming around looking at everything, "What are they doing here?" Wesley questions quietly, "um.... that might be my fault" I confess. "What do you mean?" KD asks as fierce as a lion, "WHY ARE THERE GUARDS IN OUR TRAINING ROOM?!" She boom "Well, I'll have to tell you everything from when Dillon disappeared," I warn her, "I don't care, as long as I find out where they're here" she says quieter. " When Dillon disappeared a year ago mom and I were left to find food on our own, and everyday I would pick a wealthier person and steal something from them, not much, just enough to buy some food for our next meal. One day, I snatched a small purse from a rather big man and he noticed so he shouted 'stop! Thief! Stop her!' And someone grabbed me an tied my hands behind my back and I was taken to the palace to be judged by the prince." "wait," Clay interrupts me, "why is the prince judging you?" "He judges all kid criminals, where was I, oh yeah, so when I got there the prince stared at me for awhile and then he called for one of his subjects, they whispered for a while before he called the guards and I figured they were just taking me to the dungeon so I was confused when I was taken to a pink room, richly decorated with a huge bed. A voice came on 'Welcome, what's your name?' 'My name is Eve, where am I?' I asked, cause all the rooms have a specific name and it said, 'You are in the female fiancé room.' Nope, I'm leaving, I thought I crept to the door, it was locked. I even tried the window,it was open, but 5 story's above the ground. 'So... that's out of the question' a voice from behind says, I spin on my heels and guess who? The Prince. He was dressed in blue and black, 'Come with me' 'And if I don't?' I challenged him, 'well, I could force you to come' he said calmly. 'Let's see you try' I say as I drop down and role under the huge circular bed. 'Getting guards' the computerized voice says. 'Have fun with them' he says as he sits on the bed, 'since we're here... we might as well get to know each other' 'what's to know? I'm sure you found out all about me' 'well, to be fair, yes, I know all about you, but you don't even know my name' he taunts, 'Can I be honest?' I asked, 'of corse!' He says sounding hopeful, 'I don't even care what your name is' I snapped 'ouch' he fake whined. 'Your highness?' 'She's under the bed' a hand grabbed my ankle and dragged me out from under the bed and led me by the arm out the door and onto the balcony. 'hello people of Heulim! Meet your soon to be princess,' The prince announced, ' Eve Jane Garden!' There are shouts and cheers. I wonder if I through myself over if they would catch me, I actually considered doing it, but in the end I decided against it. 'See, they don't care that you were a thief, if we marry, you and your mother would be living here, you would never have to steal another morsel' he tempts, I start to consider going and marrying him for my mother, she was getting thinner by the day. I needed to see her, I need to check on her, I needed to see what she thinks. So that night when the maid came to clean I grabbed her and put a hand over her mouth,' I'm gonna move my hand now, ok? And if you don't call the guards I'll give you a reward worthy of a king ok?' She nods her head, 'I need to borrow on some of your cloths, like a dress and hood' ' I'll get it now miss' she says as she goes to get the cloths. When she comes back she has it all folded and pressed, 'thank you' I say ' you'll get your reward tomorrow, tell me your name' 'my name is Liz' she says then she's gone. I changed into the maids cloths and the pulled the hood over my head and walked out the door and into the hall, I didn't know where I was so I just started walking, eventually I found my way out and was in the crisis night air, I made my way home and my mom was awake. 'Eve!!' She cried when she saw me. 'mom!' We embraced for what felt like for ever, then I asked, 'should I marry the prince?' And she said 'no, run the second you can and leave me here, don't even look back, promise me you won't' I did, I also promised that one day,i would come back, and then I would take her and we would be happy forever. That night, I ran, I never looked back."
