(for context, the topic was on the universal human experience: occupation)

The target audience of the proposed documentary is educated students of QASMT that are nurtured within the modern day developed Australian society and a strict culture of participation as a beneficial member of an externally controlled society.

The national image of the Philippines is misleadingly tainted by 'Western' (as referring to developed countries on the global market, including Australia) boycott towards developing south eastern Asian countries. Consequently, subsistence fishing within Filipino coastal communities is often portrayed as unhygienic and inefficient. However, in the proposed scene Filipino traditional fishing is empowered through a different light.

Unlike conventional occupations, Filipino fishing is an occupation not controlled externally by a subject's hourly income for hourly substantial toil. Contradictory, fishing is controlled by an individual's own internal control over their ability to generate income through both externally taught and adaptive innovated skills and techniques. An entirely internally controlled life is but an irrational approach to living similar to that of an animal to the audience of disciplined generation of students. The proposed scene aims beyond subverting the audience's prebuilt values, beliefs, expectations and behaviours of not only non-commercial fishing; but also of the audience's perception of occupations, and an individual's control over their income and lifestyle. Through the strategically constructed scenes, the meaning intended to inspire the audience with is the sensation of freedom, individuality and control of the lifestyle gained from a Filipino fisherman. The three shots are each synonymous with the key words freedom, individuality and control respectively.

The scene is faded into visibility from the previous scene. The first shot will be angled from the ground approximately 70 degrees and will closely follow in the shadow of the fisherman as he walks barefoot on a beach near San Fernado, Philippines. The angle of the shot and lighting was deliberately designed to empower the subject of the scene. The bare feet of the fisherman are an implicit detail in the scene representative of freedom from society's control. The head of the subject blocks the sun to create a halo around his head and the fisherman is positioned central in the frame. These techniques are used to further glorify the individuality of the fisherman. The only sound present in the shot are sound effects from the fisherman's feet brushing against the ground.

The subject will be marginalised on the left-hand side in the following closeup shot. The shot type will highlight the individuality of the subject's facial expressions. The fisherman's facial expression and stance is strong and independent. The gaze of the subject is strongly directed slightly upwards into the empty space on his right-hand side. The body language in this shot, which is often used in self-empowerment posters, symbolises strength and confidence. This shot will be in silence to direct the audience's attention at the shot.

The final shot will be a slowed motion of hands reeling up a net entrapping half a dozen fish. Unlike the previous shots, the subject of this shot is not the fisherman but the entrapped fish. The shot is the analogy for control, which is the net, of one's income, which is the fish entrapped within the net to be sold. This shot will be in silence.

Though the occupational human experience is universal, the divergence of the experience lies in the control of a human over their own lives.
