Chapter 9

"Clint, we aren't working. I feel like.... I feel like you're to controlling and aren't giving me room to grow and breathe." Anne said to the mirror, "No, that's no good. 'Clint, we need to take a break. We need to find out who we are and figure out whether we are better together or apart.' No, not that either." Anne sighed and washed her face with water.

"Anne? You here?" Clint knocked on the door.

Anne stayed silent. "Anne, I hear the water running, please answer me."

Anne sighed, "I'm using the bathroom."

"With the sink on?" Clint asked.

"Clint, p-please." Anne said with a shaky voice.

Clint sighed and walked away. Anne sobbed, sliding down next to the bathroom sink.

"Where is she?" Kylie asked, "Did you talk to her?"

"I don't think there is any talking to her. I think... I think it might be over." Clint swallowed the lump in his throat.

"What do you mean?" Bucky asked, "Why would it be?"

"Oh, it's all my fault!" Clint sat down and put his head in his hands. "I didn't want her to tell you guys something, so I got over controlling and didn't give her room to breathe."

Anne listened through the bathroom door. "Wh- why shouldn't she tell us something?" Kylie asked, "She should. I'm her cousin, and you are just her... " Anne opened the door. 

"I'm leaving." Anne said, "I'm going home."

"Back to Washington? It's all the way across the nation." Clint said.

"I know." She said.

" Anne, maybe we should talk." Kylie said. 

"I- I don't..." Anne looked down. She sighed and walked towards the door of Kylies house.

"Where are you going?" Clint asked. 

"Were ever you're not." Anne opened the door and left.

"Anne! Anne, wait!" Clint and Kylie called. Kylie pushed Clint back into his seat and ran out the door after her, "Anne!" Anne stood on the street corner, looking across the road, "Kylie, I'm leaving, and I'm not coming back here. It was stupid to move across the country for him. It's a decision I never should have made."

Anne sniffed and sat on a bench. "Anne, maybe don't make a decision right now when you're so upset. It could be one you regret later." "No Kylie, you don't understand! Clint doesn't he let me think for myself!" Anne sobbed, "Hes made me hide things from you! He doesn't love me enough to let me breath."

"What is he making you hide that's so unimportant you want to tell everyone? I was my decision to hide my-" "Your power isn't like mine!" Anne screamed, " I change shape into animals, and I control water!" Kylie looked at her with shock and awe.

"Clint didn't want me to tell you for 'my own safety' but I felt like I was lying to you all! I tried to confront him about it, but he didnt6 want to hear it and told me to listen to what I was told." Anne tried to calm down but was having a hard time breathing, " And now look at the mess we are in because of it! I can't stay here!"

"Okay, calm down. Let's try to think of something." Kylie said in a calm and soothing voice. Anne took a breath. "Okay, I want to try something if it's okay with you." Anne nodded in response to her question. Kylie looked around cautiously, "I want you to clear all of your stuff out of your house and move it somewhere else. Tell everyone you left but change your form into an animal and stay that way while you're around the team. You can keep an eye on Clint that way and just really see how he is when you aren't around."

Anne smiled softly, "Thats- that's a good idea. Thank you." Kylie smiled and looked towards her house, "I need to tell you something. I'm not sure how to put this," She whispered, "But... Bucky and I-" "Are in love." Anne said finishing her sentence, "And you feel that he's always been the one for you, but you never wanted to admit it to yourself or him because he was with Brook and you would never want to hurt her, so you stayed in a relationship you didn't really want to be in. But only recently did you realize that he feels the same way about you." 

Kylie stared at her, "Your eyes. They're grey, not green like they usually are."
