They put me in this cage years ago. Tortured me, abused me, tried to kill me, all because of what? A stupid advanced ability. I was just born with this ability. And now I'm paying for something I couldn't even control. I lifted my gaze to a taller officer who was standing aside and half asleep.
"Hey. Can I ask you a question?"
"What."
"If you had the natural ability, one that you had no control over that was given to you at birth, how would you feel if you were pulled away from everything you know and love." I asked as I looked at the officers stern face. He looked down in thought for a sheer moment and then back at me.
"Well...I'd tell you to stop trying to make me feel bad about all of this." The guard snapped as I sat backs down in the cage. Three years I've been doing this. Three years I've failed. I stood up as the sane quarantine unit came into the room and unlocked the cage, letting me out. I looked at the officer in an armor plate uniform with an orange and blue coloration, of course dented, faded, and scratched from my many Essie attempts.
"Are you going to make us go through this routine again? Or come quietly this time?"
"I'll come. I'm done fighting." I said as I noticed the officer take off his full face helmet, to show a straight face and bewilderment in his eyes.
"Fine, then you know the drill, forward, turn left, and the first door on the right."
"Yeah, yeah, I know." I said as I followed the corridor. Except this time, I had an inside man. I looked at the guard on the left and slightly nodded my head as he tapped his gun three times. That's the sign. I felt myself smirk as I continued down the hallway and turned left to see the admiral standing by the doorway. ~weird...he's never there...~ I thought as I looked at him and stepped forward.
"Well, well, well...you've finally given up eh?"
"Yep. I ain't fighting anymore."
"The. You won't mind if I just read your thoughts do you?" I heard him say as my smirk faded. ~if he reads my mind, he'll find out my plan...~
"I do actually. So back off and let me take my tests." I growled at him as I turned the cold door handle and pushed the door open as the familiar feeling of cool air blasts my face. I step into the room and close the door behind me when a spotlight illuminates that horrible chair...I'd never actually done the tests...I'd always fought back and was put back in my cage...my heart pounded quicker and quicker with every step I took towards the chair when I noticed there was blood on one of the arm restraints. ~What...but I thought I was the only one with my ability...~ I thought as I looked at the blood dumbfounded. I heard the sound of boot steps in the darkness as I shakily sat in the chair. I pulled my hands away from the restraints, still weary, and set them down in my lap.
"Place arms on the rests test subject 001." I heard a megabuck voice say over an intercom as I slowly places my arms on the rest. I sat still, expecting someone to rush in with a needle as the restraints snap shut. Little had I known that the restraints had hundreds of tiny, poisoned needles in them that just snapped down on my wrists and arms. The sting I felt from the needles was blinded by adrenaline and fear as chest and stomach restraints, that did not have needles, held my stomach still. I looked at my arms and legs as someone slowly stepped out of the darkness. I looked at his white lab coat with the "Calco" orange and blue triangles on it, when I noticed he had a full face helmet on to cover his face.
"Shall we begin the tests now?"
"N-No! Leave me alone!" I heard myself scream as the person chuckled coarsely. I saw as a second person stepped into view but this one was wearing the guards armor. ~great. This is going to end well~ I thought to myself as I looked at him with wide eyes, stricken with fear.
"Has the poison set in?"
"Should have. If it has you'll be able to tell." I heard the two officers say to each other.~poison...what poison...~ I thought to myself as my eye lids started growing heavy. I blinked several times as I saw them wheel put a machine.~that must be the portal to the awakening...where all of the people like me are...~I thought as the hooked the machine up to my restraints. I sat perfectly still and looked at the machine that they'd just plugged me into, when they flipped the switch however...the world went dark.
