The Summer I Turned Pretty
I love these drives.
It's like coming home after you've been gone.
Y/n smiled as she looked at Belly at the rear-view mirror. Listening as Belly loudly singing her lungs out.Y/n then found herself singing with her sister. She loved that Belly was always so happy on trips like this, and she isn't complaining.
Unlike her brother.
"YOU CAN DO BETTER!" Belly sang loudly.
Y/n turning in her seat to sing with her sister. Their mother gave the twins an amused expression as they sang.
"Um, can you guys turn it down a little? Please." Laurel, their mother asked.
"Oh, yes please." Steven said in exasperation as Y/n then lowered the volume of the music down.
"I want you guys to be better at helping out this summer. Like don't just leave your dishes in the sink, load them into the dishwasher.... and not just your own dishes either, Steven." Laurel told her oldest, glancing at him in the driver seat.
Steven glance at his Mom at the rear-view mirror, "Mom... But..."
"I want you to be a good house guests." Laurel, their mother firmly said. Cutting Steven off.
"Mom, Susannah has house people who clean, doesn't she?" Steven asked, glancing at their mom at the rear-view mirror.
Y/n and Belly scoffed at their brother's words as their Mom leaned forward to slap her son on the side of his head.
"Ow!" Steven flinched in surprise, hand moving to where his Mom slap him.
"Alright, sorry" Steven quickly apologized, shaking his head.
The twins grinned looking out the car window as they watched houses passing by.
