Chapter 5

I made it to town, but I made it with not so good results. I ain't gonna even go into detail about what stuff went down.
But I did find out where the scouting legions base was, and headed straight there.
I wasn't going to let my mom's plans work. I was going to make sure of it.
As I got closer, I realized that they hadn't gone out at all! That meant my mom must be out getting things set up ahead of time or is already home and was going to kill me...
"It's now or never." I said to myself. "It's time I didn't let my mom's plans hurt others... It's wrong..."
As I walked towards the door, I saw Armin walk out and run up to me, hugging me tightly.
"What are you doing here?!" He asked as he pulled away. I smiled softly, hugging him again. "I've come to give your captain and commander some news.."
He probably understood what I meant and took me inside, I don't remember if I told him about who my mother was though, or if I told him at all, did I? I shrugged to myself as I walked into an office, a tall, sturdy looking man, stared at me, his eyes being a beautiful shade of blue.
"Arlert. Who is this?" He asked softly.
"This is Ashton, Erwin sir.." Armin said, getting nervous.
"I've come to give you some news about to known gang, the ones that keep stealing your supplies." I said as I held Armins hand gently.
The man's eyes widend softly as he got up and walked over to me. "You know their plans?" He asked me. "I do, yes."
He gave me a soft smile, making me feel soft inside, as if I was getting a smile from a father I had never known.
As I explained to the commander (Erwin) about the plans my mother had, he listened, quietly, asked a few questions and nodded softly after I answered him.
But one question came up that almost made me choke on my own saliva.
"What's your last name Ashton?" He asked.
I hesitated, Armin brushing up against my arm to tell me it was okay. "Smith." I responded.
His eyes widened even more. "So your our kid huh?" He said softly.
"Your kid..?" I asked. "Naomi was apart of the scouts, and her an I had a relationship. She ended up getting pregnant, and to protect her, I had to send her away to somewhere safe. I never saw her again, didn't even know the gender of the baby but you..." He said as he got closer to me. "Your my daughter.." he said as he hugged me tightly. I was in awe, I'm the daughter of THIS MAN?!
I felt like crying in that moment because I felt like I actually had a way out, away from my mother!!
"..." I started to cry, crying into his chest as he patted my head softly and held me closer.
For the first time, I actually let my emotions come out, letting them out was the best feeling and I slowly started to feel the heavy weight off my shoulders come off.

"I promise..I will never leave you.."
