"Mamá!" Antonio ran down the stairs, and I bent down so he could jump in my arms.
I hugged him tightly. I had missed him more than I thought I would.
"I missed you," I whispered.
"I missed you more." He murmured, and I kissed the top of his head.
Ximena hugged me, surprising me with her strength when she squeezed me. Once Ximena pulled away, I felt Adrien's fingers knot with mine.
"I want to show you something." He said, and I let him guide me outside.
We walked down the trail and past the pool until I saw his empty shed. I gave him a confused look, but he ignored it.
There were some men there, and once Cruz saw me, he gave me a quick smile before Adrien could see him.
"Jefe, Señora." He greeted us, and I nodded my head.
He kept the door to the shed open, and we walked inside to see some men working, building.
"I don't understand. You want me to live here?" I squeaked, and Adrien gave me an annoyed look.
"No, mi sol, I'm turning this into your little reading nook. Your bookshelves will be there, and along that wall, you'll have a desk right there, a couch here and there, maybe a bed too.
The walls will be repainted, and I told them to make it spacious and safe for you. That way, you can come here and read, write, and even get away from me if you want to. It'll be yours."
"For me?" I asked as if not hearing him right. "You're making this for me."
"Consider this act one of me groveling for your forgiveness." He ran his finger across my cheek and cradled my jaw, lifting me to face him.
"I'm going to be making up every tear you shed and every ounce of heartbreak you felt from me for the rest of my fucking life. Even in the afterlife, I'll be on my knees begging for you to forgive me."
I swallowed from the fierceness of his stare, of his promise, and my eyes dropped to his lips as I thought about how he kissed me earlier.
It was my first kiss, and as inexperienced as I was, Adrien made up for it. He was loud and demanding, and I couldn't stop thinking how wet it was when his tongue slipped into my mouth.
"You want a kiss, baby?" He whispered. I nodded. "I don't want others seeing me kiss this mouth, but I can't seem to hold back."
He slammed his lips on mine, and I whimpered from the ferocity as I clutched the sides of his jacket. His head tilted, and I felt his hands fist my hair as he brought me closer to his mouth.
"If I keep going, I might end up bending you over that table there and fuck you, but I want your first time with me to be special." He mumbled with a deep rasp against my lips. "God, so fucking sweet."
He licked my mole at the bottom of my lips, extracting a whole-body shudder from me, and then pulled away.
Wobbly, blushing, and breathless, Adrien led me around the room, showing me what he would do better and more visually before we walked back to the house. He stayed with me for a bit and then said he had an important meeting and couldn't miss it.
I told him it was fine, and he promised we'd speak tonight about everything. I spent the afternoon with Ximena and Antonio as she caught me up on her sister's drama through Antonio, who was groaning and grumbling the entire time as he translated between us.
