(Last lines from last chapter)
Raphael headed down the sewer tunnels and came to the entrance to his home. He opened the door to see his father standing there. The anger on the old rat's face was almost terrifying.

"Raphael. Would you care to explain why you have been out so late and why you have brought an unknown guest to our home?" The old rat asked with anger threaded in his voice. The red banded turtle felt a few beads of sweat run down his face as a million excuses ran through his head. None of them seemed fit.
"'M sorry sensei. I needed ta take a walk by myself. I shoulda came to ya first before leavin but I thought you was sleepin," Raph said sincerely. He tried to think of something else to say about his new friend he brought home. He knew his father wouldn't believe him if he said he found him on a rooftop. It just sounded too ordinary.
"And about the mutant? You still have not told me why it is here," Splinter said calmly. The old rat calmed himself when he saw the sincerity in his oldest's eyes. He knew he wasn't lying.
Mean while, the turtle cat was exploring his soon-to-be new home. He sniffed and rubbed against everything. He purred when he passed the red banded turtle's room. He sat down in front of it and flicked his ears, waiting for said turtle to come to bed.
"Father. I can explain. While I was out on my run I ran inta him sorta. I heard him hissin and I coaxed him outta the shadows and I asked him ta come hone with me. I don't think he can talk 'cause he hasn't said anythin. He acts more like a cat than anythin else," Raphael explained. He looked around to see where the creature was a saw him sitting at his door. He looked at his father and sighed softly to himself.
"Very well. We will speak more in the morning after practice. Get some rest my son and make sure you treat our guest as such, even if he does not act human like. Goodnight my son," the elderly rat said. The exhaustion was present in the old rodent's eyes and the way his tail lay limp on the floor. Raph bowed respectfully and nodded to his father. The eldest turtle bade his master goodnight and headed to his own room for some much needed sleep.
The cat turtle purred and stood when the other approached. Raph smiled lightly as he opened the door for the other to enter. He watched as the creature bound into the room and jumped on his bed. The kitty like turtle curled up in a ball with his tail over his nose on Raphael's pillow.
Raph walked into his room and closed to door behind him. He stepped towards his bed and laid down, trying his best not to touch the other as his bed was originally only meant for one turtle. Not one and a turtle cat. But with the other in mind, the red banded terrapin pulls his covers up to his chin and glanced at the other before his eyes slipped closed and he drifted into his dream land.
