Mia's POV
When morning came, a young woman who looked to be in her twenties woke us up and brought us inside. She let us take baths and gave us clean clothes so she could wash hours. She fed us breakfast and then asked "Why were you two children out on the streets, and were are your parents?" Jason lied and said "We don't have parents." then I lied and said "His parents got sick and died when he was 8 and my parents abandoned me when I was 7. He found me on the streets about a month later and we have been friends ever since." Me and Jason looked at each other with a grin. Then the girl said "You poor children. I can be your mother from now on." Then me and Jason said "NO!" loudly at the same time. Then I said "That won't be necessary. We can take care of ourselves." then looked at Jason with a cautious look on my face. Then I stood up and said "We really should be on our way. Thank you for all you have done for us. You have been very kind but we must go." "Why must you go so soon? I don't even know your names." Then said "Sorry, I never tell anybody my name unless I know theirs. Then the girl said "Well then, my name is Charlotte." "My name is Mia and his name is Jason. And we need to go. Thank you for washing our clothes and giving us some extra ones and bye. We will hopefully see each other again. Most likely on the streets." Then we walked out the door waving goodbye.
Jason looked at me with a weird face and I said "What? Neither of us need a second mom. Plus if she adopted us you would be my brother and I wouldn't like you like I do right now. After I said that he just looked at me with his cute little smile and blushed a little and I smiled back at him. Then we started walking again.
We soon arrived at a medium sized building that looked sort of like a large house. It looked a little old. An older woman ran out of the building and said "Your late!! Your late on your first day of school!!" Then I said, "What? What are you talking about?" she said "You are the new students aren't you? Why aren't you wearing your uniforms?" She handed me a dress and a bonnet. Jason smirked at what I had to wear. Then the woman gave Jason a pair of pants and a shirt and it wiped the smirk of his face. She said "Put on your pantaloons and your shirt." I giggled a little at how fast the smile fell from his face. Then she said "Go on! Well, what are you waiting for you two?" she looked at me and said "Your classroom is on the left," then she looked at Jason, "and yours is on the right. Bathrooms are down the hall, and to the right." We hurried up the steps and ran to the bathrooms with a questioning look on our faces.
