Jason's POV

When I finished the test I sat there for a while waiting for someone to get up to turn in their test. I waited for about five minutes for someone to get up and decided that I should just sit here wait for instructions. After what felt like FOREVER the teacher got up from his desk and stood in front of the class. "Ok everyone turn in your tests. Jason do you need any more time to work on it?" I looked up shocked that my name was called. "N-no sir." he looked at me with a slight smirk obviously amused that I was a little scared and shy. Soon after he received all of the tests and sat down at his desk again to grade the papers.

I heard the bell ring and saw everyone scramble out he door. As I went to walk out of the classroom as well I felt a hand touch my shoulder and turned around to see the kid from earlier. He was smiling at me and said "So... new kid huh? I remember when I was the new kid here. I came here about two or three years ago. I was shy much like you are. Do you want to walk with me?" Before I could say anything he walked out the door to the classroom and, out of instinct, I followed. I usually just followed Mia around. She was such a trouble maker. She used to ask me to come over to her house after we ate dinner and she told me to come in through her window so we could play cards and stuff for a while after her bedtime. I was the only child in my family and smart so my parents didn't worry about the superstition of how much sleep you are supposed to have. "Earth to Jason. Earth to Jason." he said pulling me out of my train of thought. "Sorry just a little distracted you know with it being the first day of school and all." I led. I wasn't that shy about it being the first day at this school considering the fact that we are going to find my time machine soon.

"So... I heard there is a new girl that came here today also. Do you know her?"

"Huh? Oh yeah she's my sister."

"Really? Do you two get along?"

"Yeah. she the only thing I've got and I'm the only thing she's got so I guess we kind of have to get along."

"Really? What did your guys' parents de or something?" He looked at me "S-sorry you don't have to answer that question if you don't want to." He quickly said. I gave him a slight frown. "It's ok but I don't really know where they went. they just left us in an orphanage when we were kids. I knew that when we where going to be separated from each other that I needed t get both of us out of there." I had a sad look on my face as I remembered me getting separated from my older brother when we were in the orphanage. I wasn't necessarily telling him a lie. I was separated from my brother because he got adopted and I did to after about a year later. I can still remember the look of hurt in his eyes and on his face. As I started to remember that I felt my chest tighten and I felt like I was going to cry and then I remembered that I have a family that loves me now and  have Mia. As soon as her name popped in my head my sadness turned into a warm feeling.

I looked up to see her and the boy looking at me with curious looks. Mia had her eyebrow raised and I had to keep myself from hugging her right then and there. I looked at the boy and remembered that I didn't even know his name. "I just realized I never asked your what your name is." I said implying a question. "My name is John." He said looking at Mia and smiling. She was looking at him and smiling too. I started to feel angry and jealous. "Well Mia and I have to go." I said looking at her with her and then glanced at the door. She walked passed me slightly stomping with her arms crossed. She looked at me with a pouty face and walked out the door while I followed.
