Garret stood up strong after almost being burned alive. Looking at parts of his skin that should have been burned, he was in awe at what just happened. It was just like those animes Gianni forced him to watch(which he definitely hated).
"So..." he started, "Now what? Do I just have fire in my body now?"
"Glad you asked kid," Naomi clapped and rubbed her hands together, "This is the fun part now." She walked over and grabbed the table and chair she threw.
Garret followed her, "What? What do you mean the 'fun part?'"
"First, sit down again kid, my powers may have been cool," she sat down slowly, putting her hands on her knees, "But my bones are still old."
Garret sat down, "Okay, now what?"
"Usually this event happens when three things happen. It's either enough of the old elementals have died out and it's time to pick new ones-"
"Uh-huh."
"The world's stability is under threat-"
"Uh-huh."
"Some ancient elemental is trying to make a grab for power using the newer generation."
"Uh-huh," Garret nodded his head, "So are none of those like, good things? Besides the first one, It all just seems like doomsday."
"Well, it has been around 50 years. That's usually the time it takes for the world or universe or whatever the fuck to choose new successors," Naomi started, "But that doesn't leave you stranded with no place to start your journey."
"Journey?"
"Yeah, your elemental journey. Most people who get selected for this type of thing have to go on one."
"Huh, sick. What do I gotta do?"
"You remember the 31 other elementals I spoke about?" She grinned, "It's your job to round them up and bring them together."
"To do what?"
"Take care of the possible two other options," She folded her arms, "Even if it doesn't happen, the other 30 elementals will be brought into the world are gonna be hostile."
"Hostile how?"
"Hostile as in enough to throw the world off the balance if left unchecked."
"So the first option could very well just be the second option in disguise."
"Now you're gettin it!" She stood up and pushed the table aside, "They're already gonna have a good amount of power behind them, so you're gonna have to prepare yourself."
"Wait, you're not gonna teach me how to use this shit?"
"Nope. It's how all fire elementals learn."
"What the fuck!? Who decided this bullshit!?"
"I don't know kid, the universe?" Naomi put her hands out to the side, making a T with her body, "I can only tell you there's gonna be 4 elementals in your area or "energy zone" in about 2 days. In other parts of the world, 2 will be found in each zone. As for the other zones, you'll have to be watching the news."
"Could I at least get a hint on how to use it?"
"Uh, back yourself into a corner, kid." Flames started to warp the area around them, making Garret fall into a state of unconsciousness.
WELL HOW IS THAT SUPPOSED TO HELP!? His last thought was, before his eyes closed and senses dulled.
It wasn't before long he felt himself coming to his senses again, back on the old carpeted floor of his apartment.
