You wake up to the sound of the wind flapping your curtains and the birds chirping as always. This is how most of your days start. You sit up and take a deep breath as today is a special day after all. Today marks the 10th anniversary of the creation of this town. You open your closet and pick out something classy so you look good atleast. You head downstairs to eat breakfast and chat with your mother.

NRA: You're excited for today, aren't you?
RHT: Yeah! Can't wait to go to the festival.
NRA: So enthusiastic, maybe your eye has caught someone of your liking?
RHT: What? No! Not at all. It's just that it's so fun at the festival with you and the father.
NRA: That I agree with. Why don't you go ahead and I'll catch up after I do some work?
RHT: Sure thing! Bye!

She waves at you and starts doing housework, and you head out of the house. You start walking towards the town square where the festival is held when a group of kids run past you. You can't help but smile at the memories you had when you were a kid just like them. When you arrived at the festival, you spot john amongst the crowds. You try to conceal yourself but to no avail. John approaches you.

JHN: Hey, I'm sorry for yesterday.
RHT: Yeah right, as if you're ever sorry for anything.
JHN: I mean it! Please forgive me!
RHT: Alright, apology accepted.
JHN: Thank you! Wanna go enjoy the festival?
RHT: Sure, let's go.

You and John try out the many attractions and have a lot of fun, something you didn't expect since he's a total douche to you. After a while, John tell you to go sit at a bench and he'll go get some ice cream. He comes back with two vanilla ice creams and sits down.

RHT: How much do I owe you?
JHN: Whaaat? Don't worry, it's not that expensive.
RHT: Thanks, never thought you had a nice side.
JHN: Rude!
RHT: *chuckle* Alright, let's see if this ice cream was worth the wait.
JHN: Big first bite!
RHT: Sure.

You both take a big bite out of the ice cream. Vanilla is your favorite flavor so it's sure to be enjoyable. But this isn't vanilla, instead it's more like... You puke out the ice cream and see John laughing his ass off.

RHT: You put mayonnaise in it, didn't you?
JHN: You should've seen your face!
RHT: Why? Why would you do that?
JHN: Why? *laughter* Because it's funny!
RHT: So this is all just a game to you, you're not actually being nice to me.
JHN: Of course not, you're a freak!

John leaves and tears start pouring from your eyes. Life is so unfair to people, but this is outrageous. Your mother arrives and sees you crying. She asks what happened and you explain to her what john did. She says that some people are like that but that doesn't mean you shouldn't give them attention.

RHT: Where's father? Wasn't he supposed to come with you to the festival?
NRA: He wasn't answering the phone. Maybe he's busy with church work?
RHT: No, he'd never miss the festival. I have to go! See you later mom!
NRA: Wai- so impatient and energetic kids nowadays.

You sprint towards the church at full speed. Father hasn't missed a single festival ever since you can remember. Something's wrong, you can feel it. Arriving to the church, it's all quiet. Not a single noise can be heard. You take a deep breath and head inside. The door creaks open, and wind flies in. It's dark but you can still make out the place. You start walking towards the altar. Still no sign of father. You notice the door to the fathers room is slightly open. You head inside but from the dark you can only make out a silhouette of a robe. You always wondered where the father kept his robes but the center of the room was your last guess. The room kept getting dark, darker, yet darker but you manage to find the light switch. What you see before you shocks you in place. Your eyes wide open, your body shaking, your mind not knowing what to make of the situation. Shocked awe in sheer terror as you glance at the lifeless body of the father you thought had a heart of gold. His suicide was the last thing you thought would happen. You fall on your knees, tears flood your eyes and this wonderful day turned into tragedy.
