*Buzz, buzz, buzz*
I turn over to the buzzing noise coming from the unfamiliar bedside table. I soon notice that it is my phone going off, Misty's contact is displayed across the screen with the 'Slide to answer' section staring back at me. The time on my phone reads 2:36am, why is she calling me so early? Where the heck am I right now? And why is there someone on the floor?
Two out of my three questions are answered when I realize the dark figure sprawled across the floor is Clayton, answering the other question of 'where am I, Clay's house...but why?
All the sudden my brain registers the events that happened just a couple hours ago. I went to the police station, got removed from my home and placed into Clayton's or at least for now, it isn't official yet.
My phone continues to vibrate, I decided to answer it.
"Hello," answers my groggy self.
"Hey you, did I wake you?"
"No I was just up chilling at 2:36am on a school night you know?"
Misty laughs, a genuine laugh. As if her and I are still best friends, that she just called me up to talk about homework or to gossip about someone. But I now remember that we are still mad at each other....Or are we?
"So how come you called?"
"Well just wanted to make sure you were okay and all..."
"Misty what are we doing..."
"I don't know Scar."
"Really you're my best friend and your right I should have told you about my problems I should have told you about everything and I'm sorry. I will fill you in all tomorrow but come on really, we shouldnot have pointless things getting between us."
There was a long pause.
"I wouldn't say that your problems are pointless Scar, but yes let's be more.....um, understanding. Okay?"
"Yeah Alright. Listen I'm kinda really tired so I'm going to go now but I will see you tomorrow."
"Me too Scar, bye love you."
"Love you too."
I put my phone on the bedside table and put my hands on my stomach, laying on my back, eyes up towards the ceiling. I glance over to the still asleep Clayton. Gosh do I ever love him, to think that he make actually have feelings for me too....
I roll over to my other side and let myself slowly drift off into a not-so peaceful sleep.

I push myself faster and faster through the woods. Branches are whipping at my face, I try my best to push most of them out of the way but I'm not so successful. All my bones are aching, my lungs are burning and my energy is diminishing quite quickly.
"You think you're tough Scarlette?"
My heart drops when I realize the familiar voice that is chasing after me.
My mother.
"I never loved you anyways, you were just a mistake, an accident."
Tears start fall, despite my exhaustion I push my legs to run even faster.
"You're weak Scarlette, WEAK!"
My mom yells at me.
I trip over a tree root and tumble down a hill, I'm nearing a cliff and try to will myself into stopping but I can't stop falling. I slip over the edge and see the water that I am plummeting towards. Everything is in slow motion, I can hear the echo of my moms laugh from the top of the cliff. I'm screaming all the way down....
"AHHH"
I shoot up into a sitting position. I look around frantically forgetting where I am, again.
Clayton comes running down the stairs.
"Scar, what's wrong? Are you okay."
Clayton's house, how could I forget.
"Yeah I'm fine."
I wipe the tears that did truly come and dab at the sweat on my forehead with the bed sheet.
"It was just a bad dream."
"Oh Scar..."
Clayton comes over to me and sits on the bed right across from me almost sitting on my outstretched legs, but I quickly tuck them in so he doesn't. We are in the guest bedroom down stairs, but I don't understand why Clayton was sleeping on the floor, he could have just slept in his own bed.
"Did you want to talk about your dream?"
"No, not really."
Normally Clayton would keep pestering me but I am thankful that he just let this one go.
"You should probably start to get ready for school, unless you want to stay home."
"No it's fine I should go to school."
"What about your clothes don't you want to go over to your house and get some clothing?"
"Yes, I will head over and be back really fast okay?"
"Can I come with you?"
Shaking my head mentally, I decide that I would rather not go back to my house for a little bit, especially with Clayton.
"Actually I think I'm just going to borrow some clothes from your Sister or something."
"Are you sure Scar, really it's not a big deal going to your house."
"I just don't feel like going home. I don't know why I don't want to but I just don't."
"Alright, well If you do plan on getting ready for school I would do that fast unless you want to miss 1st period. The eggs smeel like they are burning so I am going to go flip them come up stairs when you are ready."
Clayton Patters back up the stairs, I lay back in the guest bed and breathe in and out. Deep breaths, mentally preparing me to get out of bed which is something that I do not want to do.
