I plump onto Clayton's living room couch and let out a long sigh. I put my head in my hands and allow myself to close my eyes for a few seconds. The talk Misty and I just had was good but was very emotional and intense. I needed just a few moments to myself before getting ready for the party. I feel an arm drape across my shoulders and I am greeted with a quick peck on the cheek. Although this gives me butterflies in my stomach I still don't move from my slouched position.

"Scar?"

"Mmm?"

"If you want to go to the party you have to get ready now."

At this I lean back and rest my body on Clayton's shoulder.

"Okay, I'm just tired cause the talk with Misty, kinda drained my energy. But yeah I'll go get ready."

"Alright how long do you think you will be."

"I'm gonna say around 3 hours."

"3 Hours!? Scar that's a really lo-"

"Relax I'm only kidding, 30 minutes tops"

"Okay I'll be 10 so just come down whenever your ready."

Then the realization hit me. I don't have any clothes to wear, or make up. I'm not in my house I'm at Clay's all of my stuff is in my dads house. I guess technically I should be at my dads house right now because Clayton's family doesn't have legal custody over me yet.

Clay got up from the couch and started up the stairs.

"Wait Clay."

"Yeah?"

"I just need to go get my stuff from my house. So I'll be right back."

A very slight hint of anger could be seen on Clayton's face but he hid it quite quickly.

"Well then I'm coming with you, no way I'm letting you go over there alone with hearing what your dad has done to you."

I feel a sense of relief that he I don't have to go over there alone. But if I'm going to be honest I don't want to go over there at all I don't want to have to explain to my dad why I wasn't home if he even cares enough to ask I also don't want to tip-toe around him, afraid to wake him up or get him angered like always.

"What is it that you have to get at your house anyways."

"Well I don't have any other clothes here either then the ones I'm wearing and I also don't have any makeup."

"Oh alright well if you really want you can borrow Olivia's clothes and I'm sure she has makeup somewhere."

"Really? You don't think your sister would mind?"

"Of course not, she loves you!"

"Okay then yeah I'll do that I just don't think I can handle going over to my dads right now."

"Alright, can u handle a party right now or do you just want to stay here?"

"No, no I want to go get a break from everything and the party will be fun!"

"K so just go upstairs and hang a left look in Olivia's closet for some clothes her makeup should be in one of the bathroom cupboards in her room."

"Thanks Clay!" I say running up the stairs two at a time.

I knock on Olivia's door twice and I'm greeted to the blonde hair blue eyed smiling sister of Clay's.

"Oh hey, Scarlette what's up?" Olivia asks taking her earbuds out of her ears.

"Um so I'm going to this party tonight and I don't have any clothes to wear because uh.. they are in the laundry I was wondering if I could borrow some of yours."

"um yeah sure!" Olivia opens her door wider so that I can walk in.

For a 18 year old Olivia's room is pretty clean, a lot cleaner then mine that's for sure.

"You're about my height so most of my clothes will fit you, try on whatever is in here," she gestures towards the closet.

Olivia takes a seat on her bed and cris crosses her legs she sticks her earbuds back in her ears and proceeds with whatever she was found in the computer.

I open up the closet doors and run my fingers along the clothes that are hung. My eyes land on a turquoise button up shirt I pull it out and admire it even more its both cute and casual. Thankful I'm already wearing a white tank top underneath my previous shirt. Then I dig through the many pants in the bottom of the closet I settle on the dark wash jeans that fit perfectly.

I tap Olivia on the shoulder.

"How do I look?"

"You look hot! But seriously you do look good."

I laugh, "Thanks Liv."

"Anytime,"

"Would you mind if I also borrow some make up?"

"Yeah it's in the bathroom, top right drawer."

I applied mascara and a little bit of powder foundation and some lipgloss to top it off.

I thanked Olivia yet again before going back downstairs Clayton was waiting for me on the couch. He got up at smiled a very very cute smile.

"You look so beautiful."

I blush at this anything Clayton says makes me blush like crazy.

"Oh shut up."

"What? I'm just speaking the truth."

"Yeah yeah whatever lets go to the party now."

"OKAY I CALL DRIVING!" Clayton shouts.

"GOOD BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE MY LICENSE!" I shout back

"RIGHT I FORGOT."

"WAIT WHY ARE WE SHOUTING LETS STOP."

"Okay."

"Let's go."

Clayton and I pull into the driveway of the party the music is so loud we can hear it in the car. The bass is making my heart beat and I turn and look at Clay he flashes me one of those heart melting smiles.

"You ready to party?"

"Of course I am! Your going to dance with me okay!"

"I don't know scar I'm not really into dancing."

"That's to bad you are!"

Before Clay could protest anymore I hop out of the car and slam the door behind me. I stand in front of the at and start to sway to the beat then I start to get into the dancing more. I gesture for Clayton to come with me because I'm not walking backwards towards the house, still dancing. Finally Clay gets out of the car and says

"Fine I'll dance with you."

And with that we both head inside ready to party.
