Isabella was asleep on Alice shoulder, her breathing was calm and even along with hear steady heartbeat. We were on the edge of Phoenix, soon entering the sunny city and Alice seemed to notice as she handed us both a pair of caps. I snatched the black one out of her hand with a grin and snickered lightly as I saw Jaspers unsatisfied face as he took the gray one. He only rolled his eyes with one of those smirks and lightly hit my shoulder making me laugh a little louder.

The sun began to shine too bright, thankfully our windows were tinted but it seemed like the human in the backseat didn't like to have the sun right in her eyes because she slowly began to wake up. She rubbed her eyes and let out a little yawn before she tilted herself forward and looked out through the windshield. "Wow, we got here so fast."

Jasper stopped breathing for a short second before he took a breath, and it made me strangely proud when he didn't react to her scent as he used to. I squeezed his hand in my lap, not making a big thing out of it just showing that I was indeed proud over him. His lips turned up only faintly as he gently squeezed my hand back, not paying the human in the backseat any attention.

We both didn't like her so very much, she had put our family in danger and we held her responsible for the whole ordeal. Plus, she made my husband uncomfortable which later in turn made my uncomfortable. If you made one of us upset in any way it would affect the other one of us without a doubt.

I didn't trust her one bit, I didn't confide in her one single bit and I couldn't help but be on my toes around her. It was always the same with everyone I met, I just didn't trust them. It would always stick with me, and I knew everyone around me knew that. No one blamed me, but sometimes I couldn't help but blame myself for being so paranoid all the time. It was beaten into me, embroided into my brain and whipped into my skin. There were times when I was grateful for it, and of course there were times when I was anything but grateful. But I knew it was a thing I could never change about myself, I would always be the same girl who had gotten my personality twisted into other peoples liking.

I had zoned out for quite a while, Jasper brought me back to reality when he squeezed my hands in his and first then did my eyes blink. My head turned towards him and I saw that we were outside of a hotel, we both put our caps on and I threaded my hands into a pair of gloves before I put a pair of sunglasses on my face. Coats were all hanging on the three of us, they covered our arms and legs along with our necks with their collars.

Alice had already opened the trunk when I took my place beside her, I grabbed two of the humans bags and began to walk into the hotel alongside Jasper. Alice walked in front of us all, going straight towards the reception who thankfully was in the shadows. I didn't pay attention to what she said, instead I repreatedly sweeped my eyes around us. My face was pulled into a neutral grimace, my posture was spike straight and my chin was held high.

The pixie like girl thanked the woman behind the reception and I haded the two bags over to Jasper as the three of them stepped into the lift. I blurred my words out in a speed the girl was unable to catch before I turned around and began to walk towards the stairs. "I'll check the stairs."

My breathing stopped as I gently opened the door that lead to the staircases, I only pushed it open so much so that I could push myself through before I closed it as softly as I could. I manipulated my steps into being as light as they could and threw a look towards the corners. No cameras. It seemed like the lights in the staircase ran of some sort of sensor, and it appeared as if my movements had been to slow to be caught because the lights were still off. I knew no one was here, and I knew James was being hunted by our family. But even so I couldn't help but check the tiny things that made me even the slightest worried.
