Paul McCartney ; oh darling

It was a rainy day in Liverpool. A type of feeling of melancholy and numbness, that was comforting but at the same time extremely depressing. It was terrible for a person already experiencing gruesome thoughts about herself. She was laying in bed, covered in warm sheets tying to cancel out the loud noises of nature and also desperately waiting for her husband to come home. She wanted him to comfort her, work up to her needs, take care of her. She was beginning to tear up right at the moment she heard the door unlock, hearing Paul excitedly run up the stairs.
"My darling.." She heard the faint sound of his soft voice, which was gradually getting louder as he got closer to the door of the bedroom they both shared.

"Hey lov-" He opened the door and his voice was cut off as his grin faded, seeing her miserable state. "Oh sweetheart.." He'd almost never dare to call her by her own name, even though he thought it was the most beautiful name he'd ever come upon. He was completely aware of why she was like this.

It was like when you're feeling awful, and then someone asks you what's wrong. So as warm tears started to flow upon her rosy cheeks, it was his one and only priority to gather them all into  his palms and toss them out as to never be seen again. As he added hundreds of wet kisses into her features, she chuckled, almost choking through the quiet weeps, "I'm sorry," she croaked "I'm sorry for being afraid." Afraid of herself, he knew. Afraid of being hideous in all ways in the eye of others, oh how he wished she'd know how everyone saw her. How he saw her.  Paul did not want to her apologising. He carefully picked her up, terrified of breaking such a gorgeous piece that was also so, so fragile. He placed her on his lap, her wrapping her arms around him as of instinct, sobbing into the crook of his neck.

"Pretty thing. If only you knew..." He whispered words she probably couldn't hear. "If only you knew." He wished she would.

She pulled away. "I'm sorry, i'm so sorry dear, i'm so sorry you have to see me like this." She apologised, though he knew all she needed was reassuring. He knew everything she needed.

"Don't apologise, love." He took a deep breath, preparing to tell her everything, everything he truly meant. "I promise you, i have never seen someone as beautiful, from inside and out." He gently cupped her cheeks, his voice breaking as he spoke.  "You're everything to me, you're the finishing touches to my blank canvas I never knew I needed. So please, if anything, just stay."

She didn't have any words left. She didn't have the words to argue nor to say something about herself. It's like he took those words from her, forbidding her to ever say something bad about herself again. He made her feel better, and, at that moment, that's all that mattered.

"I love you." She softly spoke. "I love you so, so much."

"And, oh darling, I love you too."
