Boom! The thunder continued to surge as the storm continued onward. The pour of the rain could easily be mistaken for hail with the thump of every drop equivalent to such.
"How is mum gonna get home through the rain?" Asked Grace.
"She'll have to wait it out for a bit, but she'll be fine." Alex assured. He moved to the couch and flopped out over the length of it. He patted what little section of the couch he hadn't spralled out upon. Graced rolled her eyes and shambled over to the remainder of the couch. Alex shuffled and scrambled to a cross-legged position facing Grace.
"Hey, you wanna play 'Jinx'?" Pestered Alex.
"You always win! No way!" Grace refused.
"Aww, come on! I'll go easy on ya!" Alex insisted.
At this point, Grace had turned around and now had her arms crossed. It would seem there was no convincing her, but Alex still had a trick up his sleeve.
"If I lose, I'll buy you a Flufty Pop." Alex offered. He knew this would work. Grace was constantly begging there mother for a Flufty Pop and would never pass the chance to get one. It was the perfect mix of ice cream and fairy floss that would make anyone drool to think about. Grace was hesitant, but eventually decided.
"fine, I'll play." She yielded.
"But get prepared to lose." They both said simultaneously, to which Alex immediately responded "Jinx!". She groaned in disappointment at such a pitiful loss, and so soon!
"Guess I'm having a Flufty Pop!" Alex remarked.
"Hey! That wasn't apart of the deal!" Grace protested.
"I thought it was kind of obvious, wasn't it?" Quipped Alex.
Grace was about to rebuttal once more, when the lightning crashed once again. Grace jumped in a startled shock, coincidently landing in Alex's arms. Alex thought for a moment, before finally deciding today was the day. Today was the day to tell her. "Hey, i wanna show you something." Alex said in a serious tone before walking into there parents room. Grace impatiently waited until Alex came out a moment later with a small box that was locked.
