To any other person, this would've seemed like an ordinary box, but the two of them felt a strange feeling from the object. A feeling of discomfort and unease. It was a rectangular box, with a black leather covering, tightly chained on all ends. It seemed fairly aged, of which was indicated by the dents in the chains and the rips in the leather.
"It's a...box?" Grace was clearly confused.
"Not just a box. A box that contains something so dangerous, that once dad had contained it, he tied it in these chains, locked it with a key, and entrusted me with hiding it." Alex declared. Grace thought for a moment.
"So not even you know what's in it?" She finally stated.
"No, but I do remember that dad said we shouldnt play Jinx around it." The thunder grumbled, as to affirm their fear.
"Well, dad's not here..." Grace pointed out, hinting at the idea.
"Oh no. Absolutely not! Do you really think dad would waste steel chains on this box if it weren't important?"
Alex retorted.
"Oh, come on! How do you know this isnt as fake as Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy?"
"Because with them it seemed too unbeleivable!"
"Whats so beleivable about this?"
Alex was about to respond, but he hesitated. He thought further. She does have a point.
"Ok. But let's make it quick." the both said.
"Jinx!" Grace shouted immediately following.
"Oh, come on! Thats not fair!" Alex complained. The box rumbled, but neither of them noticed
"It so is fair!" It rumbled a bit more. Alex had taken notice to the rumbling.
"Jinx!" Rumble.
"Jinx!" Rumble!
"Jinx!"
