Azmorn lived a simple life, where all he needed was the simple things, a roof over his head, and a basic meal to keep him going through the day.
Most of all, what kept him going were his dreams, the thought of something bigger, a connection we all possess yet it will always be our own no matter what happens, dreams are always there.
Standing on his balcony looking over Frostriver lake, the trees in the distance, mountains blending into the background always still but never silent he could reminisce on his past, the people he had lost, and all he had seen. Now though he was here, a life he would never have imagined real in any way and while the water of the fountain gave off a soothing sensation nothing could ever be perfect, not like they were back then.
Marimor knocked on the door and came in slowly, careful not to interrupt the thoughts of the person who had given him everything but asked for nothing in return. Walking quietly into the room he knocked again on the chest of drawers to get Azmorn's attention, he said with a quiet and calm tone, "dinner will be ready soon." Suddenly back into his reality Azmorn turned with a somber look on his face, thank you Marimor, I shall attend when I am ready, you may all carry on, pay no attention to me my thoughts seem to have become distant. Without a second thought, Marimor left, still quiet his pace fast yet barely a sound came from his steps, when Azmorn turned, he was gone and his thoughts yet again were all he had to himself.
The view, the manor, the soft silk pillows and sheets, his bed that he would rest in every night, all this from his luxurious life meant nothing to him, it all fell away and his mind was left to wander. Why now? Azmorn thought to himself, this feeling that I have long forgotten now returns, what has suddenly changed. A cold wind blew through the room and sent chills down his spine, a strange sensation for this midsummers night and with that, he left, down the stairs and through the many twists and turns of the passageways, past all the doors that he longed to be filled by others, "I am alone" was the final thought before he suddenly collapsed taking the banner on the wall with him and shattering a glass mirror that could easily be replaced.
Azmorn, a gentle voice said repeatedly until he finally opened his eyes, are you alright?
It was Lillia, one of the oldest people there, kneeling over him as his eyes opened, still groggy from his collapse a cloth in her hand and relief in her eyes she said you have been here for a few minutes, when I came across you I thought it best to leave you be instead of call for help.
Thank you Lillia he said to her softly with a rough tone in his voice, I do not know what came over me. He sat up slowly, feeling dizzy and weak when her hand came behind his neck. No need to rush, you have plenty of time to recover before everyone finishes dinner.
His head was throbbing and his vision grew blurry when he suddenly saw her looking down at him, a girl he had no recollection of, with her hazel eyes and pale skin, what seemed to be surprised on her face before she was gone. Who was that he asked Lillia. She did not reply and seemed worried about his reaction. Another few minutes passed and he got up slowly feeling much better, his feet steady he looked around him at the torn banner and broken glass, I should clean this he said to himself not looking at Lillia and started off to fetch the broom and bucket to clean his mess.
The glass was laying all over, thin shards of glass, some pieces barely visible as would be expected but to him, it felt off, what had happened so suddenly to him, why could he not trace back to those last few moments? A piece pierced his skin and a blood drop formed, it should have fallen to the ground but instead, it was mended, the blood going back into his veins and the cut healed as if it had not been there at all...
