Ainsley's POVI shouldn't have acted so obvious when I asked Cody not to take me home. I should have been more subtle... But oh well. It's too late now. Cody continued holding my hand, and leading me to his house.
As we entered his house, I smelled something nice... Chocolate chip cookies! I breathed in deeply, sighing happily after. "What are you doing there, Ains?" Cody chuckled. I blushed and his my face in the sleeves of my hoodie.
"I-It's just I hav-haven't smelt choc-chocolate chip cookies in f-forever and they're m-my favorite." I stuttered, quietly. Cody smiled at me.
"Would you like to go to the kitchen and have some?" He asked. I nodded frantically, quickly following him to the kitchen. "Hey mom." He said, kissing the lady by the stove on the cheek. "This is my friend Ainsley. Ainsley, this is my mom. You can just call her mom. She doesn't mind." Cody said. I smiled at her.
"H-hello. It's ver-very nice to meet y-you." I said. She smiled at me.
"It's very nice to meet you too, sweetie. Now, would you like to try some of these chocolate chip cookies?" Mom asked. I smiled and nodded happily.
Cody passed me a plate, filled with chocolate chip cookies. My mouth was watering and I couldn't wait to just shove them all in my fucking face. I took my time though. I didn't want to seem like such a pig in front of Cody AND his mom.
After I finished eating those wonderfully amazing cookies, Cody asked if I wanted to watch a movie. I nodded and we decided to watch 22 Jump Street. We laughed throughout the whole movie and had a great time.
As I kept my eyes on the screen, out of the corner of my eye I saw Cody move closer to me, and I felt his arm go around my shoulders. I froze, not knowing what to do. Eventually, I gave in and slowly sunk back into his arms. Cody smiled and settled back into the couch.
Soon I began to feel pretty tired and slowly shut my eyes.
Sometime Later
I groaned as I slowly cracked my eyes open and looked around the unfamiliar setting. "Good morning." I jumped at the sound of Cody's voice. He chuckled, and I hid under the blanket. Wait.. Didn't I fall asleep on the couch?
"How'd I-I get on t-the bed, Cody?" I asked, confused.
"I carried you." He said, smiling. I looked up at him, shocked.
"A-are you serious.." I asked, surprised. He nodded.
"Why does that seem to shock you?" Cody laughed. I scoffed, and looked away. He raised an eyebrow at me.
"I d-don't like when pe-people lift me. I'm too h-heavy for t-that." I said, glaring at my stomach and thighs. Cody slowly walked towards the bed and sat right next to me, wrapping an arm around my shoulder. I sniffled and leaned into him. I feel like he's the only person I'll ever be able to trust...
"Hey... Ainsley. Look at me." He said, lifting my chin. I slowly turned to look into his eyes. He smiled lightly at me. "You are not fat Ainsley. To be honest, you're tiny for your age! If anything, hell! I think you need to gain weight! You are perfect the way you are. You are not fat. You are far from it. So please, don't ever, not even for a second, think you are fat." Cody said. I looked down.
"Cody... That was o-one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me. You are the best friend I could ever ask for." I said.
Cody looked at me shocked. "What?" I asked him. His smile grew so big that it took up half of his face.
"You only stuttered once! You didn't stutter nearly as much as you usually do!" He exclaimed. My hand shot up to cover my mouth. Really? I only stuttered once?!
"Oh my God... Cody!" I squealed, attacking him in a hug. "I didn't s-stutter as much!" He laughed, and wrapped his arms around my waist, hugging me tightly.
"I'm so proud of you Ains!" He said.
Cody's POV
"Cody... That was o-one of the nicest things anyone has ever said yo me. You are the best friend I could ever ask for." Great. Friend-zoned. Wait a second... Why did that sentence sound so different to me? The stutter.. The stutter! She didn't stutter as much as she usually does! "What?" Ainsley asked me.
"You only stuttered once! You didn't stutter nearly as much as you usually do!" I exclaimed. Her hand shot up and went over her mouth.
"Oh my God... Cody!" She squealed, jumping on me. "I didn't s-stutter as much!" She said. I laughed, wrapping my arms around her waist, and hugging her tightly.
"I'm so proud of you Ains!" I said. And I really meant it. I'm so happy that she's starting to trust me. And it makes me really happy. It's okay that I'm in the friend-zine right now because she trusts me. That makes me really happy.
Ainsley's POV
I couldn't be any happier right now. Sitting next to my best friend, watching TV and eating food. And I finally got over my stutter with Cody! I'm so proud of myself. I feel like I can really trust Cody. I know, I haven't known him very long, but he seems like the perfect person to be my best friend. We get along so well and he's just amazing. I don't understand why someone like him would want to be friends with someone like me, but hey! I'm not complaining! I just can't wait to spend more time with him..
