We were coming up to the last oxer (jump) drenched with sweat. This was the toughest jump of the course, but I knew we could do it. She gave me a slight encouragement of her legs along with a small kissing sound and we were off. Souring through the air we cleared the grand oxer with air to spare, landing perfectly on the ground with great equitation.

"Oh Memphis, we did it!" Jennifer, my rider chanted in disbelief.
Yes we did I thought in response.

We galloped around the giant arena that was as big as a football field with the giant ribbon blowing in the breeze on my chest. I couldn't help but glance to my side though as we flew by, to see the pain in some of the other horse's eyes as they were violently whipped with anger and frustration. Before my mind could linger on that thought, it was taken over by excitement from Jennifer as she gently slapped my neck in appreciation. I could feel her emotions running wild as tears of happiness began to fill her eyes.

"What a phenomenal horse!" Someone yelled from the crowd.
"And rider!" Someone added. This was such an amazing moment that I never wanted to let go of. Just to hold onto the crowd's warmth and appreciation forever.

Soon enough though after our victory lap, Jennifer jumped off and loaded me in the trailer with the tastiest apple mush I have ever had!
