Five days in total.
Five more days without Tyler.
Five days away from her home.
Five days of some kind of a peace.
Five days with Josh.

"And yeah! He said we can play this saturday!" Josh said excitedly.

"Can you believe that? It all still feels so... surreal" Y/N continued.

Josh did call Y/N's parents to inform them about her staying over. She didn't want to speak to them.
She was afraid of what could happen.

"Are you nervous?" He made a serious face now, sitting straight and looking at Y/N.

She thought for a moment.

"I am, but i found a way to deal with it."

"What do you have in mind?"

"Ski-masks." Y/N smiled. "We could wear them as long as we feel anxious. You can take it off when you're ready" she explained further.

They agreed on the masks and it all seemed to be working out fine. For a moment, Y/N forgot about everything.

Josh is an optimist and he always tries to show her that things aren't as bad as we make them seem.
Some people depend on the weather, he would say. But he's alright. He's trying to be alright.

"I think i'm going to see him today" she suddenly says.

"Oh"

"Matter of fact" she stood up "i think it must be tonight." she said, heading for the door.

"Wait! But, Y/N-" Josh grabbed her wrist as she turned to face him.

"Huh?"

"It's pitch black out there Y/N, I can't let you go now." It was genuine, he was worried. He'd be lying if he said that he wasn't afraid of what Tyler's capable of.

"Okay." Y/N said

Josh blinked in suprise, he expected more protesting. Instead, they went back to the bedroom, back to bed.

Y/N waited for Josh to fall asleep so she could sneak out. It was silly but she knew it was the only way. She had to see Tyler, now.

Y/N can hear Tyler humming mindlessly when she approaches the treehouse. She cautiously climbs up the ladder, poking her head in.

Tyler is sitting there, flicking the lighter on and off as if in a trance.

"Hey," she says, and he nearly drops the lighter in surprise.

"Hi," he says, pocketing the lighter. "Come in."

Y/N hesitantly clambers in. "So, I wanted to apol-"

She's cut off when Tyler surges forward and presses his lips to hers.

The kiss last longer than the last one, and this time both of them are contributing. Tyler's mouth is warm and sweet, and Y/N can feel her own heart thumping madly.

Tyler's soft, blue-sky hands reach up. One cradles the back of her neck, and the other cups her jaw. Y/N's hands hesitantly reach up as well, grasping his shoulders.

They finally pull back, and Y/N slowly opens her eyes to see Tyler's still closed, looking utterly contented.

They just sit there for a moment, catching their breaths.

"Why'd you run?" he finally asks, breaking the silence.

"Why didn't you kiss back?" she answers.

There's another moment of silence.

"I like you," Tyler says suddenly. His voice sounds a little different. Like rain falling up. "I like you a lot."

"I like you a lot too," Y/N says, and Tyler beams at her, flashing his beautiful smile.

"Good," he whispers, odic, and kisses her again
