(An Imitation of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet opening)

Two people alike in loss of dignity,

In fair Indiana, where we set our scene,

From deadly sickness they break into mutiny,

Where spreading tumors makes bodies unclean.

Through sickness we see a fatal difference

Two teens wish to stay in this life,

But forbid any further assistance

So they fight through their strife.

The fearful passage of their cancer-mark'd love,

Their parents cannot feel rage

Though one's anger could not be removed

Is now 313 pages brought to the stage

To which your tears will attend,

For one girl who strives to mend.
