~Emma's P.O.V.~
I put the last of my belongings into my tear-stained suitcase. I was having to move to London with Lou, because I was only 17 and couldn't live on my own. I was having to leave my hometown, where I grew up, where all my friends were, where everything I love was, and move to a new, foreign country and meet all new people. To be honest, I was pretty scared. I zipped my suitcase and moved it to where the rest were.
"Is the last of everything?" Lou asked, standing in the doorway.
I took one last look around my room. I guess this was it.
“That’s the last of it,” I replied.
“Ok. I’ll start moving it to the car. You can wrap up everything here.” With that, she picked up tow of my bags, and walked out. I walked out of my room, and down to the stairs to the almost empty living room. The only thing that remained was the furniture, since I really couldn’t, and didn’t need, to take that with me, and the marks on the wall where my mom used to measure me every time I grew since the time I was 2 years old.
I walked back up the stairs to my room and grabbed the last of my bags. I tried to blink back the tears that were forming in eyes. Before I started crying again, I hastily made it out of my room. Once I was outside the house, I went and put my last bags in the back of the car. I walked up to the front of the car, and got in the front seat. Lou was already sitting the driver’s seat.
“You ready for a new life in London?” Lou asked in an excited tone.
“As ready as I’ll ever be.” I turned and faced out the window.
“Goodbye.” I whispered to myself as we drove off.
I took out my headphones and put them in ears. I put my music on shuffle. The first song that came on was “When You’re Gone” by Avril Lavigne. Perfect. Just perfect. I left it on anyway. I put my phone away and closed my eyes. I had about a 2 hour drive to the airport, and then an 11 hour flight to London. Maybe I’ll actually get some sleep.
We make it to the airport and got through security. Now we were waiting to board the plane.
“So you never told me what you do for work, Lou.” I turned to look at her. Her eyes widened slightly and she looked scared.
“I uhh, I, umm. I’m a hairstylist.” She answered, not looking at me once.
“A hairstylist, cool. What salon do you work at?” I questioned. I was wondering why she looked so scared.
“I umm, I don’t work at a salon.”
“Where do you work then?”
She didn’t respond.
“Earth to Lou. Where do you work?”
She still didn’t respond.
“Lou I swear if you don’t tell me-“ I started, but she interrupted me.
“I work for a boy band.” She answered.
“What do you mean?” A boy band?
“I travel with a boy band, and do their hair when they’re on tour or for interviews.”
Wait. If she travels with them…
“Does that mean I’ll have to travel with you?”
“If we’re going far enough away, then yes.”
Great. So I’m moving to a new country not knowing anyone, having to leave all my friends, and to top it off, I have to travel all around with my sister and these stupid, coincided pop-stars.
“Who are they?” I asked. If I’m going to be stuck around them all the time, I should at least be allowed to know who they are.
“Uhh, umm…”
“Lou tell me, now.” Now I was getting mad. She better tell me now or so help me I will hurt her.
“One, umm, One Direction.”
And of all people.
“Great. That’s just perfect!” Note my sarcasm.
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you-“ I didn’t let her finish.
“No. Don’t even start. I don’t want to hear it.” I got my headphones back out and put them in. I turned the volume all the way up. I didn’t want to hear any of the stupidity coming from anyone. I can’t believe she did this to me! How could she! She could have told me! Now I have to deal with traveling everywhere with some stupid boy band. Oh but not just any boy band. The one and only One Direction!
Whatever. I don’t even care anymore. I just closed my eyes and let my music take me far away…
Next thing I knew, Lou was shaking my shoulder and telling me it was time to board. I stood up and grabbed my things. I didn’t even wait for Lou. I started walking towards our gate and didn’t stop for anyone. I boarded the plane and sat down. I took out my phone and put it on airplane mode, so I could still listen to my music. About 5 minutes later, Lou came and sat next me. I didn’t even look at her. I just closed my eyes and prepared for the longest flight of my life. Here goes nothing.
