Adrian pov

It was already dark when I got a call and when I looked at the number my heart stopped, it was Marlon.

"Marlon?!"

"Help....."

"What happened?"

"Car.....off the road"

"Where are you?"

"Country road.."

"I'm on my way! Marlon? Shit!"

"What happened?"

"Marlon had a car accident, he didn't answer anymore."

"Wait, I come with you, call an ambulance.", my mom jumped up.

After a few minutes we found his car, it came off the road and hit a tree, smoke coming from the engine, the front completely destroyed.

"Marlon!", I ran over to the car.

"Ads?", he whispered barely hearable.

"I'm here. Don't worry, the ambulance is on the way."

But he fainted, I squeezed his hand when I heard the siren. They pulled him out and brought him to the nearest hospital. I couldn't come with cause I wasn't family but my mom followed them. I almost ran into the emergency room.

"Hello, I'm looking for Marlon Jones. He had a car accident a about half an hour ago."

"He's in treatment right now, I'll inform you when you can go in."

"Thank you."

We sat down in the waiting room, my mom hugging me, squeezing my hand, it felt like an eternity. I felt guilty that I didn't ask more often and didn't try more to help him. We waited more than an hour, I felt sick and got more and more nervous.

"Mr. Davis?"

"Yes, that's me!"

"You can visit him for a few minutes, he's awake but needs rest."

"Thank you.", she showed me the room.

"Marlon?"

"Ads?", he opened his eyes, he was lying on the bed with a few cables and bandages.

"Thank goodness! I don't even want to think about what would've happened if I didn't answer the phone!", I hugged him.

He didn't say anything he just hugged me back; he pulled my shirt and buried his face in my neck.

"Thank you.", he whispered.

"There's no need to thank me, but thank you for calling me.", I sat next to him on the bed.

"What have you done?"

"I was too fast, didn't focus and hit the tree."

"How fast were you?"

"About 100mph."

"You're lucky that you survived, I hope you know this, dipshit.", I ruffled his hair.

"I know I was dumb."

"Yeah, but I'm happy you're still with me."

"I'm sorry, I overreacted, but everything was too much, this week was horrible. I just wanted that you cared more."

"I care about you, a lot. I just thought these guys wouldn't be much of a problem for you. I know you as strong confident guy, these douchebags are jokes."

"Cruel jokes."

"We'll manage."

"I have to tell you something", he nervously looked away.

"What is it?"

"I even thought it was a mistake to come out and start the relationship, I thought I could go back and pretend to hate you and meet you secretly, just so they leave me again."

"It was that bad, huh? I promise you I'm here, and we will fight these idiots, but you need to promise me to tell me everything."

"Promise."
