SOPHIE HARGROVE USED TO BE A RAY OF SUNSHINE -- now she's sick of it all.
And though her cheery demeanour remains, it's merely a defence mechanism to hide the self-doubt and mental exhaustion that clings to her like sand on a beach. The abuse she suffers from her father's hand never ceases to squander her chances at true happiness.
Her twin brother was her lifeboat once, caring for her when no one else did. Their mother was wonderful, too. She was the glue holding them together.
But soon enough, she grew tired of her husband's abuse. And she left. She left them both, and that's when her lifeboat did too.
Billy Hargrove was a monstrous reflection of the man who would blacken their eyes and break their arms to teach them a lesson. Of course, to everyone else, the Hargroves were almost perfect. And after the Mayfields entered their lives, life only grew more unbearable.
Sophie thought she knew who the monsters were -- but the ones in Hawkins are so much worse.
