6.00pm, Musutafu Hospital

Beep... beep... beep...

The soft hum of machines filled the hospital ward, their rhythmic beeping a quiet reminder of life. A teenage boy lay motionless on the hospital bed, his head swathed in thick white bandages. Sunlight filtered through the half-closed blinds, casting pale stripes of light across his still form.

For hours, nothing stirred. Then, a faint flicker of movement. His fingers twitched, followed by a soft, almost imperceptible groan. Slowly, his eyelids fluttered, the brightness of the room making him squint. As his gaze wandered, confusion clouded his eyes, and his breathing quickened—he was awake, but far from understanding where he was or what had happened.

「'Where... Where am I?'」The teen thought in Malay as he tried to sit up.

He shifted, trying to sit up, but pain flared in his head like a white-hot flash of lightning. He gasped and sank back into the pillows, his hand instinctively reaching for his forehead. Beneath his fingertips, he felt rough bandages, tightly wrapped. A new wave of unease rippled through him. His chest tightened. Why was his head wrapped? What had happened to him?

His eyes roamed the room, desperate for answers. There was nothing familiar about it—the plain white walls, the quiet hum of a machine by his side, the faint clinking of metal from somewhere beyond the door. The small table with a vase of flowers and a single chair in the corner were the only signs that this sterile, lifeless place might have been intended for comfort.

Panic began to rise in his chest. He searched his mind for answers, for a name, a memory—anything. But all he found was an empty void, a cold expanse where his past should have been. His breathing quickened as the realization sank in. The teen looked at both of his hands with confusion and almost panic.

「'Who am I? Why can't I remember anything? How did I get here?'」

His gaze shifted to the small table beside the bed. Sitting there, almost as though waiting for him, were two objects: an orange dino cap and a watch. He frowned, his fingers twitching slightly as a question formed in his mind.

「'Are those... mine..?'」

Slowly, he reached out, his hand trembling as it hovered over the items. First, he picked up the cap. The fabric felt soft and worn, as if it had been cherished for years. He turned it over in his hands, studying its vibrant orange color and the playful dino design.

Something about it tugged at a corner of his mind, like a whisper he couldn’t quite make out.

Then, his attention shifted to the watch. It was simple yet sturdy, its surface polished to a shine. As he clasped it in his hand, a strange warmth spread through him, though he couldn’t explain why. These two objects weren’t entirely foreign. They carried a faint, almost ghostly familiarity, like fragments of a forgotten dream.

Before he could think further, a sharp pain stabbed through his head. He gasped, clutching his temples as images began to flood his mind. Blurry and fragmented, they played like an old, distorted film reel.
