I Like You

 I watch out the window waiting for Kellie. When I see her blue car pull up in font of the house I jump up from my seat and run to the front door.

"I'm leaving!" I yell to my parents and run to her car.

"Hey." Kellie says as I get in.

"Hey. Who's party are we going to?" I ask.

"Keegan Williams..." She pulls away from my house.

"Keegan, as in my ex-boyfriend Keegan?" I ask, my expression filling with anger.

"Hey, you have been apart for a year. I'm sure he's over it." She tries to calm me.

"He still makes moves on me..." I say.

"I'll stay with you the whole time." Kellie reassures me.

When we get to the house countless cars are lined on the street. Kellie parks a block away and we walk to the house. When we get to the front gate, two guys stand on either side with a beer in hand.

"Hellooo ladies, you can go on in." One of the guys say.

Kellie and I go through the gate and into the house. It smells of alcohol and sweat. We walk through the crowd and go to the backyard. The pool is filled with people splashing eachother and people stand around in the pool with cups in their hands. We walk over to our usual group of friends and hang out for awhile, then Tod comes over.

"Hope!" He yells through the crowd of people.

I turn on my heels and see Tod comming over. "Hey!" I say excitedly.

"I was hoping I would see you here." He says.

"It was a last minute thing." I say.

"Would you like a drink?" He asks.

"Oh, no thanks." I say.

He stands still for a few seconds and then holds his hand out. "Come dance with me." He says.

"Uh...ok." I put my hand in his and he leads me through the crowd of people back into the house.

We dance to one song without touching eachother and then on the next song he grabs my hips. I go with it and move my hips some more and then he pulls me in closer. I stop moving and look at him.

"What's wrong?" He frowns.

I start grinning as I look up at him. "Nothing." I smile.

I move my hips on his as I get into the music. I spin around so my back side is facing his and he keeps his hands firmly planted on my hips. I sway my hips to the music and slowy slide lower grabing his neck from behind me and then I slide back up. When the song ends he grabs my hand and pulls me to the kitchen. I jump up on the counter and sit on the counter top.

"You're and amazing dancer." He says pulling a beer out of the fridge.

"You're not too bad your self." I grin.

"You got me into the music." He says walking over to stand in front of me.

I look into his blue eyes and slowly move my gaze down to his lips. I realize how badly I want him to kiss me. I bite my bottom lip and look back up at his eyes. He tilts his head down and brushes his lips against mine. He lingers for a second and slowly presses his slightly parted lips into mine.

"Hope? Is that you? I didn't know you were here."

I gasp as Tod and I look over to see Keegan standing in the doorway.

"Keegan." I say annoyed under my breath.

"Is this your boyfriend for today?" Keegan asks.

"Uh..." I stutter speachlessly.

"Keegan, just leave her alone." Tod speaks sternly.

"Careful, she's insane in bed." Keegan says.

My eyes burn, holding back tears.

"Keegan! Back off!" Tod gets angry.

"Listen here, sissy boy." Keegan walks closer to Tod. "You're in my house, I will do what I want to do." He says.

Tod's hands form into fists. He pulls his arm back getting ready to fight. I quickly jump off the counter and grab Tod's arm.

"Tod, stop! Don't fight him..." My voice becomes raspy as tears fall from my eyes.

"Hope? What happend?" Kellie asks comming into the kitchen and spotting Keegan. "Keegan! Get over you self! She doesn't want you, when are you going to figure it the hell out?!" Kellie says walking over to me and grabbing my shoulders. She turns me to face the doorway. "Lets go." She says.

"Wait, let me walk you to your car. It's dark out." Tod says.

"Thanks." I say.

We walk through the house and out to the sidewalk. I walk inbetween Kellie and Tod.

"I'm sorry about that." Tod apologises.

"You have nothing to be sorry about." I say.

"You have to leave early now. The party was just starting to get good." He says.

"No, I should be sorry." Kellie starts. "I should have never taken you to his house, without asking you if you wanted to go to his party first." Kellie says.

"Guys, it's okay."

When we get to the car, Kellie gets in the car to give us a minute alone. I lean against the side of the car and he stands in front of me, his arm extended out resting on the car.

"Stacy Morgan is having a party tomorrow night...you wanna go?" He asks.

"I would love to, but I'm going with Kellie and Siphanie. We can meet up there." I say feeling bad.

"Then I guess I'll see you there." Tod leans in and brushes some of my hair out of my face. "You look beautiful." He say kissing my forehead. "Goodnight, Hope..." He says backing up so I can open the car door.

"Goodnight." I say getting into the car and shutting the door.

He walks down the sidewalk into the dark night.

"OMG, he totally likes you." Kellie says pulling out of her parking spot.

"I know!" I say excitedly.

"So...what happened tonight?" She says with a grin on her face.

"Well, we danced to a couple of songs and then we kissed..." I say not able to hold back a smile.

"You kissed! What was it like?"

"It was sweet and It felt so right." I blush.

"Was there tongue or anything with it." Kellie wiggles her eyebrows.

"No, just a kiss." I admit.

"I think you are so cute together." She says.

When we get to my house it is 9:30. I get out of the car and go into the house. My mom is asleep on the living room couch.

"Mom..." I whisper, shaking her shoulder.

"What time is it?" She asks.

"9:30, I came home early. I'm going to my room, goodnight." I say.

"Goodnight." My mom says.

I walk up the stairs and go to my room. I kick off my boots in the corner and pull off my clothes, throwing them in my hamper. I pull on a t shirt and shorts and put my hair up. My phone beeps.

I run to the window and look outside, but no one is outside. My phone beeps again.
