Two bestfriends, now two correlatives. Call it whatever you want. Only a day since the confrontation between Alira and Kiara. Neither of them have spoken, recognized each other's presence or look in the same direction. They're both living in ignorance. They think blind-eye-ing the situation will cause it to pass. Instead of communicating, they pretend like nothing happened. Like if they weren't friends. They're both denying the fact that they had a quarrel, that they are/were best friends, that friends are supposed to work through it.

Denial is a scary thing.

It sends you into a world with illusions of all different possibilities, all but what actually happened.

"Oh, look it's raining

"Oh, look it's raining." Diana says, reaching out into the open, waiting for a raindrop to fall onto her palm. "It's gloomy. Oh my god, what if I can't make it home, what if it floods?" Overdramatizing the situation.

"Okay I'll get the ark, you get the animals." I reply with a straight face, she shakes her head and I know she's trying to whip up a comeback.

"Hmm, give me your address I know four wild-breed animals." Diana suggests, I know she's talking about my family. Correction- relatives.

"No we'd want animals worth saving, won't we?" She laughs and drops the jokes.

Diana, I've known her for a while- mutually. We're in the same class but we never talked until a little while back. We don't communicate everyday but the friendship is still there. At least I'm certain of that and not my other friendship. Said friendship that I have not yet mended. Forget the 'yet'. Why would I have to repair it? Kiara is the one who wronged me. Connor is the one who wronged me. There isn't anything I should apologize for.

I don't need to apologize. I don't want to apologize.

I did nothing wrong.

-nothing wrong to my bestfriend, mutual, I don't know- who is now walking towards me.

Her face stiffening when she notices Diana.

"Hi." Sternly spoken. Great. Now we have the hostile Kiara. Isn't this a lovely afternoon?

"Hey! You're Kiara right?" The look on her face when Diana responds almost makes me want to laugh. I could've sworn her eye was twitching just now. Her cheery, energetic attitude definitely staggered Kiara. This is going to be fun.

She occupies space on the bench Diana and I are seated on. This is sure not how I wanted to spend my free period but things don't always go like we expect.

"You know me?" Kiara asks. I notice the slight delight in her expression- just from the possibility of me mentioning her to my friend. Always so needy for attention. Maybe that's the reason she's so fond of Connor. He might just be her only source of heed, who knows? Wait yes, I know. I know that she is insanely blind to choose my cousin over any male that she can score. Sometimes I wonder what goes on in that head of hers.
