"I only said that he could be in Slytherin! Not that he would!" James turned around to face his younger brother. "Anyways, the likelihood of you being in Slytherin is like...less than 1." Albus briefly saw the look that his dad shot James. His brother turned back around and rubbed his neck, "Not that it matters, anyhow!" As they came up towards the large pillar between platforms 9 and 10, James turned back and shot Albus a huge smile. "See you on the other side!" And ran through the wall.

Even after watching James for the past two years, it still amazed Albus. He always was curious on how magic was capable of everything it was. And he grew up with it! He wondered how his dad or Aunt Hermione had felt when they learned about magic. Or when they had gone through this. But then Albus's mind flashed to a memory of what his dad and Uncle had said happened their second year. When the platform closed on them. But he knew that it wasn't possible. The houself, Dobby, had done that.

He looked up as he felt a hand on his shoulder. His dad gave him an encouraging smile. "Rather go together?" Albus silently nodded and his dad placed his other hand onto the bar to push the cart that held Albus's case and ferret. "On three." Albus nodded and turned to face the pillar, "One...two...three!" He clenched his eyes shut and braced for impact. For his body to slam into the brick wall. But when he didn't feel anything, he opened his eyes. Looking around, he felt as if he had been taken somewhere else.

The train was larger than he had even imagined. The smoke coming from the chimney was actually whiter than he had expected. He pushed through the families with his dad, trying to find the rest of theirs. But as they were walking, his mind drifted back to what James had said and his hands slowly fell from the cart.

He still didn't believe James about it being unlikely that he would get in Slytherin. What if he was in Slytherin? He wondered as he felt his legs slow down. He stared ahead as his family got ahead of him. Albus knew that to any onlooker, it would seem as if he was nervous. And he didn't want that. He could only imagine the Headline that Rita Skeeter would come up with. So, he bent down as if he was going to tie his shoe. As he faked the tying, he wondered. What would James say or do if he ended up in Slytherin? As far as they knew, no one in the Weasley or Potter line had been a Slytherin. And what would everyone else think? Almost everybody who had been in Slytherin had turned evil. And he would be alone. And he didn't want to be--Albus glanced up from the concrete floor when he saw his dad's shoes in front of him.

His dad took the, now untied, laces out of Albus's hands and began to tie the shoes himself. "What if I am put in Slytherin?"

He raised an eyebrow, "What if you are?"

"W-what would you do?"

He sighed and looked Albus in the eyes, "Albus Serverus Potter...you were named after two Headmasters of Hogwarts. One of them, in fact, was a Slytherin. While he did many things that were horrible, in the end, he made the right decision. There's nothing wrong with being in Slytherin. And," He stood, "The hat does take your feelings into account."

Albus stood and looked at his dad, confused. "What do you mean?"

His dad just shrugged, "It did for me my first year." He walked over and wrapped an arm around Albus's shoulders and the two began walking over to their family. "Otherwise I probably would have been placed in Slytherin." And before Albus had time to question his dad, he waved to their family. Leaving Albus to sit on his dad's words.
