Chapter 9

"Yooo" Shiloh announced our presence at Uncle Meech's house. She looked at me and smiled as if she sensed that this makes me incredibly stressed. Shiloh has hickeys on her neck and chest from our encounter last night. She never cares about them showing because she's grown.

"Wassup" Unc dapped her and gave me a hug

"Zeebee in the house" Zion laughed and hugged me

"What's the announcement? You got a woman" Shiloh laughed

"You lucky you built like an NFL draft otherwise I might've said something" He shook his head

"Have you always been this big or did you bulk up once you realized you were gay?" Terra asked

"I've been bulky since middle school she laughed. Been gay since high school"

"Enough about Shiloh, How are you," I asked my uncle

"Well everyone I have gathered you all here today because I am retiring" he smiled

"Y'all didn't tell them" He looked at us

"You barely told me" I rolled my eyes

"I'm in the pharmaceutical business" he chuckled "well I was"

"Glad you came to your mind" Nan rolled her eyes

"You both are set. You no longer need Unc to take care of you" He smiled " I am so proud of my kids"

"Thanks, Unc" Zion smiled

"Thank you Uncle Meech" I smiled

"I do have one request" he looked at Shiloh and I

"Yes" I raised an eyebrow

"Let me pay for the wedding" he smiled

"Oh you was gonna do that anyway" I laughed

"Oh I was" He laughed

"Shoot while you paying for weddings us too," Zion asked

"Y'all getting married," He asked

"We can if you pay" Zion laughed

"You engaged," I asked him

"We can be if he paying" Zion laughed

"I don't believe in marriage. Zion and I are going to get the certificate for legal reasons but no wedding" Terra kissed his cheek

"I mean respect it" I shrugged

"You like it I love it" Nan shrugged

"Also no kids" Zion added "we are getting a dog tho" He smiled

"Zion please" Nan looked at him "give me one heart attack at a time"

"Sorry, Nan I just wanted to get that out" He rubbed his neck. "Don't want you getting your hopes up"

"Bloodline ends with you" Uncle Meech looked at him

"Z and Shi" Zion pointed

"We will be having kids" I nodded

"We may change our minds but right now it's a no for us" Terra shrugged

"As long as you two are happy" Nan smiled

"Learning to bite your tongue Nan" Zion laughed

"Serious. I just want my grandbabies to be happy" Nan smiled

"Well, I'm happy. I have an amazing partner. My uncle is getting out of the business which has stressed me out. Therapy is going great. My family is on good terms. Got questions answered about my parents. Don't need to worry about my dad anymore. Life is good" I smiled

"Your exes date" Uncle Meech looked at me

"How do you know this," I asked

"Cordially Invited to their gold party" he looked at his phone

"Oh well yeah they date" I looked at him

"Dez and Oshin," Terra asked

"Yeah" I nodded

"I could always feel the sexual tension between them" She nodded

"Well, you should go. Didn't you like to help her get to where she is" I looked at my uncle. Trying to change the subject from their sexual tension

"I am distancing myself from them" he looked at the floor "but happy for them" he changed his tone

"I see" I nodded

"Well this has been real but it seems like everything here has been settled and whatnot" Zion stood up

"Yeah I agree" Shiloh nodded

"Don't get weird" Uncle Meech shook his head

"We're trying not to" I laughed

"It is a touchy subject" Shiloh nodded

"Y'all need not worry. Y'all solid. This family solid. We solid" He smiled

"Hey Nan are there anymore letters in my mom's trunk," I asked

"Tons" she nodded

"I want to read some more" I smiled

"Whenever you're ready" she smiled
I was about to say something but felt my phone vibrate it was an unknown number
"I'm getting a call excuse me" I stepped into the living room

Me: Hello
Dez: Hey
Me: Why are you calling from a number I don't know
Dez: This is my number, you must've deleted my number
Me: Your name didn't come up
Dez: Well its me
Me: What's up I'm kinda in the middle of something with my family
Dez: I'll be quick. Can you meet me in half an hour at the park
Me: For
Dez: I want to clear the air
Me: Nothing needs to be cleared Dez I'm good and you're good. Don't try to sabotage anything
Dez: That's just it. I don't want to sabotage anything but Oshin and I will be dummies if we sit around and act like you aren't the reason we are together. Oshin and I have had years to shoot our shots at each other and it wasn't until you. Until you made each of us evaluate everything for us to realize some stuff man
Me: congrats but we don't need to meet to discuss that. So glad yall happy so congrats and be happy
Dez: I want to know it's real
Me: What that got to do with me
Dez: I don't want my relationship to be based on some residual feelings we have for you
Me: Dez never and hear me when I say this ever call me again on that dumb stuff. If you and Oshin still have feelings for me that's something you'd have to work out. I am good over here. I am not meeting with you in a half an hour. Not meeting with you ever. I am happy you have realized things but the fact you making this call says all you need to know about your relationship. Now if you'll excuse me I was with my family. That includes my fiancé by the way. The one I am so happy with and marrying and am going to have babies with without thinking once about you or Oshin. You taught me some things. She taught me some things. Shiloh is teaching me things but ultimately Desiree you gotta let the past be the past and learn from it and move on. Good Day

"Damn right" Shiloh laughed

"You eavesdropping" I looked at her

"You loud" Zion hollered

"I love you" Shiloh kissed me

"I am in love with you in ways I'd never thought imaginable" I smiled against her lips

I blocked Dez and Oshin on everything for safe measures. I've moved on and I want this relationship to work. I want to be happy. I want all that drama behind me for good.
