After the events of Batman forever
"Thank you for responding to my request for a consultation Dr Meridian, Edward Nygma has been screaming for hours that he knows the true identity of......Batman."
The doctor spoke as he leads Chase down a dingy looking corridor with cells on either side until they finally reach the last one all the way at the end, it was isolated from the others with the only viewpoint to the cell being a square hole in the door with a few bars protruding from it to stop the patients from escaping
"He says that he knows the true identity of batman? how interesting....and it's no bother Dr Burton happy to help"
Chase said placing her hand on his shoulder and giving it a supportive squeeze before bringing it back to rest beside her, she then faced head on and took a deep breath before taking a few steps forward towards the cell which belonged to no other than Edward Nygma aka the Riddler
"Edward?"
She spoke her voice echoing off the walls,
eerie silence came from the cell followed by the sound of dripping water leaking in from the outside mostly likely due to the heavy rain and lack of insulation in the asylum
"Who....is it~"
Edward said in a sing songy voice which caught Chase off guard
"It's Dr Meridian Chase" she paused before continuing "you remember me?"
There's silence again until Edward speaks his voice only a whisper "How could I forget"
She stared endlessly on into the cell struggling to make out a figure in the dark lighting
"Dr Burton tells me, that you know who Batman is?"
She speaks again her voice echoing off the walls before Edward replies in a irritated tone
"I can't tell you if you don't say please!"
She stops speaking for a moment taken aback by his words before continuing
"Edward you know me, so tell me Who. Is. Batman?"
She stated in a more urgent and slightly annoyed voice as sudden footsteps are heard from inside the cell and Edward steps out into the light declaring
"I AM BATMAN!"
While flapping his long sleeved arms mocking the way a bat would as he laughs and laughs
"Its time to stop joking"
Chase says gravely her voice deeper than it was a few seconds ago as she reaches into her pocket and pulls out a little device before pressing down on the button in the middle
BOOMM!!!
The explosives she had attached to Dr Burton earlier went off with a loud bang causing thick grey smoke to rise up into the air, the once Dr Burton was now nothing but scattered limbs and burnt flesh resting on the rubble from the walls that were effected from the force of the blast. Most of the other cells had been blown up letting numerous patients escape as Chase still remained in the same place unscathed as she removed her wig and face mask to reveal short dyed green hair and the face of no other than the Joker
