Mark
"Someone explain to me what we are doing in the middle of the street in front of my house?!" Mark said.
"Just be quiet for a bit, ok?" Ana asked, kneeling on the floor with Selipa, doing weird science stuff.
"No- but seriously, what are we doing here?" Mark replied.
"Was he always like this?" Rhodes asked.
"Unfortunately yes" Ana replied.
"Always like what? I'm perfect." Mark said, hairflipping.
"Yes, yes" Ana said, standing up.
In front of them the sewer pipe cover rose up to form a super fancy high tech looking elevator. The insides were made of glass, and were lighted up. The floors and roof were tile, and instead of buttons for the numbers, there was just.... Glass?
"There we go," said Selipa, standing up.
"WTF!!!! THERE WAS A SECRET BASE IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE THE WHOLE FUCKING TIME!!!" Mark exclaimed.
"Ok, I've delivered you to where you need to be, so now it's time for me to go to where I need to be." Rhodes said.
"Wait, you're leaving already?" Mark said "But I haven't gotten your-" But Rhodes was already gone.
"Great, let's go," said Ana.
Entering the elevator, their identifying pictures showed on the glass, along with an automated voice that listed their identifying information. Once they were all in, with Mark still looking around blindly, the doors closed, and they zoomed underground. After about 10 seconds, the view of earth and stone suddenly brightened, as they entered an underground train terminal, with bright white everywhere. Agents wearing suits were walking around everywhere. There were also a lot of green beings like Selipa.
"Do you know them?" Mark asked.
"No, of course not, we're a country of 3.5 billion. How little about space do you know?" Selipa responded.
"No, no, I mean do YOU know them?" Mark said, gesturing to Ana.
"Oh" Selipa said, looking disappointed.
"Of course not, Nick Fury's secret base has around 100 million people." Ana replied.
The elevator touched down, and as they walked out, people seemed to be stopping their conversations to stare at them.
"It's like I'm the new kid at school all over again." Mark whispered to Ana.
"Just be quiet, ok?" Ana replied.
They walked over to the check-in desk.
"Hello! HQ already informed us of your arrival. Due to limited spacing, you are to be lodging in the same pod, along with one other person. Enjoy your stay!" said the smiling blonde lady at the desk, handing over a watch.
"Do you want to get coffee together later?" Mark replied.
"Excuse me?" the lady asked, still smiling.
"She's a robot, now come on," said Ana, pushing Mark away.
"Wait..... WHAT?" Mark said.
They got on another elevator, and they sped down. A few seconds later, they began to see flashes of light. Mark caught glimpses of doors, or some white light. It finally stopped.
"Welcome to Pod 84, Agent Kystofi, Agent Selipa, and Variable 1890." A robotic voice said.
Inside it was all white and high tech like. There were separate bedrooms for each of them, with beds that were actually pods that opened and closed by buttons. There were separate bathrooms, and also a very high tech looking kitchen, with a robot baking a cake. It waved at them as they entered.
Meanwhile, in the air above New York, Rhodes speaks to a radio on his wrist. "Variable 1890 and group have been delivered."
"That's great, Agent Rhodes. Please tell me they have no suspicions." The voice on the other end says.
"No. I made sure." Rhodes replied. "Are you sure about this? The variable doesn't seem to be the serial killer type, although he does overreact to everything."
"We're certain. Initiate Operation Cobra."
"Yes sir."
