"dad! i'm staying over at kate's" i yell from my room "madison! it's a school night!" my dad yelled back "so, i had the worst day today, please!!" i yelled "fine but you better be back after school tomorrow, and no skipping school" he yelled
"fine" i yelled packing a bag for the sleepover "done" i whispered to myself as i left the house saying goodbye, with my bag on my shoulder. when i arrived kate was waiting on the front porch for me.
"hey mads, i'm so glad ur here! i'm so excited" kate said, with a large smile on her face.
i love her, as a friend of course. but i wondered, is there anyone one that i love more than a friend? before i got lost in my thoughts kate dragged me inside.
"maddie!" simon yelled running up to me and hugging me "simon!!" i yelled back "now that everyone's here, let's go to my room and play truth or dare" kate spoke
as we arrived to kate's room kate placed a bottle in the middle of the room as we all sat down "we are gotta do truth or dare but the spin the bottle style, alright?" kate told us as we all nod
"i'll go first" deena said spinning the bottle as it landed on kate "truth or dare kate?" she asked "dare, i ain't no pussy" kate told deena "this gonna be good" i whispered to simon who nodded
"i dare you to call josh and tell him you love him" kate was stunned, you could tell because her eye pupils grew smaller.
"i never told him that" she told us quietly feeling a little embarrassed about it "well know's your chance" deena told her smiling
kate slightly smiled, and as we encouraged her she gained the confidence to tell him, she grabbed her phone and clicked on contacts and called him
he picked up, she was feeling a little nervous but confident at the same time, "hello?" josh spoke through her phone "hey babe, i just wanted to tell you that uhm.. i uhm i love you josh, ive always have and always will" kate finally said
"i love you too babe, but why so sudden?" he asked "i just needed to get it out, is that ok?" "of course it is, now i'm going to watch scream, so i'll see you tomorrow, ok?" he told her
"yeah ofc" she said as she hung up "see told you it would go well" deena told her "thank you deena" she smiled "ok my turn to spin!" kate yelled as she spinned the glass bottle
it lands on me, "truth or dare mads" kate asks me, seeming excited. "uhm truth." "who is your crush??" kate asked "uhm, i don't know everyone at our school is taken or a idiot" i lied knowing deep down i had a crush, ziggy berman
"boring, is it true that you are secretly in love with someone but you can't get yourself to accept that fact that you are in love with this person because you're not supposed to like them, but you see them everyday either in your mind and in person and everytime you see them you fall more in love." kate said, enthusiastically.
after that the room was quiet, everyone was shocked and stunned, especially me, it was like kate could hear my thoughts. i stuttered "i-uhm"
"relax, maddie i was teasing! i got that from a book, and you're right, everyone in this school is a complete ass, especially thay redheaded ziggy berman" kate said, as she rolled her eyes.
"right? that girl needs to get her shit together" i said, what was i thinking? "yeah totally, anyways, who's turn is it next?" heather asked grabbing some popcorn "oh um i think it's my turn" i smiled
the game continued. but kate's words kept repeating in the back of my mind. i was, definitely in love with the one and only ziggy berman.
