I woke up one morning to serious pain in my abdomen.
"Oh shit." I whispered.
Steve jolted awake next to me. He rubbed my back lightly.
"What's going on?" Steve asked.
"I think I'm having contractions." I said.
"Oh dear." Steve said. He got up and ran to probably find the messenger before coming back in.
"Alright dear. What can I do to make you feel the most comfortable?"
"I just need help sitting against the headboard." I whispered. He helped me. My contraction was coming down.
He moved my hair out of my face.
"Can you braid my hair?" I asked.
"Yes."
He moved me slightly before pulling my hair into a strong braid. I focused on my breathing.
"Banner is in the kingdom. He will be here soon." Steve said.
"Are Natasha and Yelena still here?" I asked, not being able to see them.
"Yes." He said.
"Can they please be here for this?" I asked.
"Honey I can't have you-"
"They're my sisters Steven let me have my sisters here when I have my child." I snapped back. He rubbed my shoulders.
"Alright sassy."
"I'm sorry I'm just tired of this room and- shit." Another contraction.
I breathed in and out. Steve let his fingertips run up and down my back.
"You're gonna do great Ev."

Five hours later.
Steve and I had a daughter.
Violet Sarah Rogers.
Right when I heard banner speak those words 'it's a girl', Steve's entire demeanor changed.
I sat with the baby in my arms as Steve drank a bit of wine.
"Come sit steve." I said timidly.
I was in some pain. I needed him to hold our child.
He came over and took the baby. He lightly bounced her as I moved to make myself more comfortable.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
I nodded. "Just exhausted."
"I can have the new nanny come in while we sleep." He said.
"I feel like we should spend time with her." I whispered.
He nodded and sat down next to me. He held our baby close, swaddling her.
I smiled softly.
"I'm sorry it wasn't a boy." I whispered.
"Are you kidding? Everly I'm so overjoyed that we have a healthy baby. The only thing I was worried about was putting you through this again. Other than that I'm so happy. Our little princess is already a blessing." He said.
My heart soared.
"Oh I love you." I said. He smiled at me before pecking my lips.

I woke up to the sound of violet crying, and Steve out of bed.
"Shhh let your mother sleep she just pushed you out child." He whispered.
I couldn't help but laugh.
"She's probably hungry." I said.
I sat myself up a little. Not that I should be.
Steve gave the baby to me. I smiled as he sat down.
I put the sheets over before letting violet feed.
"It's not like I haven't seen those ev." He said.
I gave him a look. He smiled and cuddled into me as the baby fed.
"She's so small." He whispered.
"Yeah well she didn't feel small when she exited my body." I whispered. Steve chuckled.
"You did good." He said.
"Yeah. I think I can make it happen again. But just so you know...she's gonna have my attitude and you know she will be running this court." I said. He chuckled and kissed my cheek.
"Yes she will." He said. "And she will do great things."
