Junie and Tony walked along each other down the cold, white halls of the Avengers Headquarters in silence. Only the sound of their feet hitting the ground resonated around the halls. Junie's anxiety raised more and more, she thought that she would faint. Tony noticed her uneasiness and held her hand. He squeezed it and said, "You'll be fine, kid. He's not going to lay a finger on you if it means his life is on the line."
Junie exhaled and whispered, "That's not what I'm worried about." Tony frowned and asked, "What is it then?" She looked her uncle in the eye and answered, "I'm afraid I'll fail. I'm scared of not completing my task. This is the first thing that I've been trusted with by the Avengers. I don't want to disappoint anybody." Tony frowned. He stopped Junie from walking and gave her a hug. Before he let go he said, "No matter what happens, you won't be a disappointment. You are amazing, just the way you are. Even if you can't change Ultron's mind, you won't disappoint anybody."
Junie smiled and continued to walk with her Uncle. They reached the briefing room and Tony stopped her from opening the door. He said, "Stay out here for a minute I'll open the door for you when we're ready. Junie nodded and her Uncle disappeared into the room.
Tony saw that everyone was waiting in the room. Steve, Natasha, Wanda, Falcon, the Vision and Ultron. Ultron was sitting in a metal chair, his left servo cuffed to the table in front of him. Everyone else was standing around the table. Tony smiled and said, "She said she'll do it." Steve frowned and walked up to him. He asked, "You want your niece, your only niece might I add, to gain a psychotic AI's trust?" Tony nodded and answered, "She's aware of the consequences. You have to remember Cap, she's an Avenger too. Sometimes you have to treat her like one of your own soldiers, not like a porcelain doll." Steve shook his head and walked back to where he was before. Wanda then spoke up, "I don't think we should give him another chance. I don't want any more people harmed. I don't want you niece...to end up like Pietro..." Her solemn face formed into a face of mourning as she stared down at her feet.
Ultron decided to speak then, "I won't harm her. But, if she does annoy me a little..." Wanda whipped around and began to strangle him, her emotion filled with rage. She was intent on killing him. Just not yet. Wanda growled, "If you dare try to harm her I will rip you apart, piece. By. Piece. Do you understand?" Ultron nodded and Wanda let him go. After that everyone was silent. Steve turned to Tony and said, "Let her in."
Tony nodded and opened the door. Junie jumped back a little but she kept a solemn face as she stepped into the room. She greeted Steve with a salute and then turned her attention to everyone else in the room. She locked her eyes onto Ultron. His red optics mesmerized her and made her body go numb. Junie then began to move toward him, like no one else was in the room. Her face was emotionless as she stuck out her left hand for Ultron to shake. She said, "Hello Ultron, I'm Junie." Ultron froze, she spoke so suddenly. He stuttered before he took her hand in his gently. Junie was taken aback when he kissed the back of her hand instead of shaking it. No one has done that to her before. He said, "Junie...what a magnificent name." He then slowly let go of her hand and left the girl in quite a shock.
Junie quickly shook off the feeling and turned to everyone else and said, "So are we going to stand here and chat all day or we goin' to take the cuffs off of him?" Everyone stared at Junie and Ultron, not saying a word. But then Falcon spoke up, "A little pushy, isn't she Mr. Stark?" And he uncuffed Ultron's left servo. He rubbed it as he stood up. He basically towered over everybody, especially Junie, who stood at a height of 5'4 while Ultron was at least over 7 feet. Junie stared into Ultron's red optics and said, "Let's get you to the tower. Hopefully you'll fit in the car..."
•Half-Hour later•
-Junie's POV-Oh, he so didn't even fit into the car. He had to ride in a helicopter to the tower. We arrived a couple minutes after he did, and it seemed like he didn't even move a muscle from the landing pad until we entered the building.
Ultron isn't that bad actually, if you put the 'destroy all humans thoughts' aside. He can be really nice, surprisingly. I mean, it's probably because his life is in my hands, but whatever. But he probably feels a lot out of place right now. He's literally standing around in a teenage girls room, not really knowing what he should really do. Hell, I don't know what I'm supposed to do either. There's an evil AI in my room, what should I do? Play dress up or talk about guys and relationships?!
I don't even know how to strike up a conversation. Like, 'Hey, so what do you like about the internet?' No that's probably why he hates humanity, by spending an hour on the web.
He sat on one of my sofa's in my room that was across from my bed. Ultron stared at me, expecting me to say something. So screw it, I'm going to ask him something random to make things slightly less awkward.
"So...um, do you like music?" I asked. Ultron looked down at his feet and then back up to me and answered, "Some music. You can play whatever you wish, I don't really care." I nodded. Oh my god this is so awkward...I hope he likes Disney music because that is literally all I have for my CD's. Other than the AC/DC ones Uncle Tony gave me. I randomly pick my Frozen CD and shove it into the CD player next to my bed.
The Vuelie begins to play and I can see Ultron giving me a 'You got to be kidding me' look. I giggle as I turn up the music. Oh I can't wait until Do You Want to Build a Snowman comes on...
This might actually not be as bad as I thought it would be!
