//Hey guys! This is my first time getting back into writing, I'm sorry if it may seem slightly inconsistent at first. I gotta find my groove again—the lengths of these shorts will likely vary as well. I hope that you all can enjoy my ideas of what like looks like for them "off screen"//

Undercity feels different today...
The young woman is feeling apprehensive to the change; adaptive as she may usually be. When she sets out with a plan, anything that could steer things in the wrong direction is assuredly unwelcome.
Careful eyes scan the grim scenery, from every inch of the dirty pavement under her feet to the cloaked strangers tossing coins and making bets. It wasn't often a place where you felt alone—there's a constant buzz of chatter and ambient noise that was somehow missing this morning.
I'm just gonna get what I came for, and go. In and out. Simple.
Violet quickly rubs the back of her hand against her nose, which had grown pink from the dropping temperatures. But that was the last thing on her mind as she approached a familiar steel-barred window. Guess it's just a lucky day for a stroll.
"Hey, anybody home?"
After a brief moment, the window slides to reveal a hulking, shadowy figure with a razor sharp smirk. Vi gestures her hand in a quick, silent greeting.
"You know what I'm here for. What do you want for it?"

Leave it to Vi to make a quick trip turn into a nightmare.
She paces back and forth inside her bedroom, hand caressing her chin in a comforting gesture. She was just supposed to be running to grab some food, and a few hours have gone by. Is she overreacting?
Caitlyn huffs to herself at the notion. Of course I'm not. Worrying about won't do me any good—I need to think. When was the last time—
Her thought is quickly interrupted by the sound of a knock at her window. A huge breath of relief escapes her, pushing her dark blue hair from her eyes. Wasting no time, she swiftly flings the lock open and helps her slide it up. Immediately, she notices something that just couldn't be hidden too well.
"Is that...my rifle? Vi, where have you been?!"

The pink haired woman pauses mid climb, looking up at her with a sheepish grin. "Hold the applause for when I'm not dangling from your window, alright cupcake?"
A quick leg over the frame and Vi was inside the room, brushing some dirt and debris off her jacket. "I know I said I was goin' out for some food but, you know...decided there's better things to eat at home." A wink trails from the end of the sentence, prompting a quick blush from Cait; smiling and pushing her with affection.

"Seriously, I need to know how you got my rifle back. Have you been planning this? And what—"

Violet steps forward and places a finger across her lips, moving down to grace her chin; a gentle pull forward. Kissing is fairly uncharted territory at this point for them, it's only happened a handful of times with a growing frequency. It's addictive, the way their mouths dance together in harmonious triumph. How great to be together again.

"Jayce told me what you did, when Sevika stabbed me." She gives a warm smile, pressing the familiar steel into Caitlyn's hands. "This belongs to you and only you."

"It feels like forever since I held it...but I could never forget. Thank you, Vi, it really means a lot that—"

Smooch.

"—would you stop cutting me off?!"
The women share a giggle as Vi backs her toward the edge of her bed, collapsing together in a pile of kisses and smiles. A few moments of silence pass as they catch their breath in the comfort of each other's presence.

"...what did you trade? For the rifle."

Vi sits back, pondering the question for a suspicious amount of time—prompting an eyebrow raise from the other.

"...well you know, I haven't been settled for very long since I got out of prison. I don't have much." She rolls onto her back, staring up at the silk canopy above Cait's pillowy bed. "In the end, we decided on a series of favors instead. Basically gonna be on call for em for awhile."

"I can't help but feel a bit guilty."

"No need. It's not like you asked me to do this. Let's just be happy that it's back."

"Are you still hungry?"

Violet nods, returning her gaze to Caitlyn with furrowed brow. "I forgot to actually get some food on my way back—sorry bout that."

"You forget we're in Piltover. Just give me a moment, I'll be back." Cait leans in to caress her cheek in a quick goodbye gesture, which Vi warmly returns with a kiss of the hand.

After some time passes, Caitlyn returns—pushing a short metal cart through the doors with plates of food adorning its shiny exterior. Violet's eyes widen in surprise at the unexpected display of wealth, something she knows Caitlyn doesn't even give second thought to.
"You got my rifle, so I got you a feast."

"You get sweeter every day."
