Chapter 1: The Smile Fades

No One's POV

"Shota!" Kayama said as she swung the door open to his classroom.

"It's eraser on school property" Shota sleepily said from under his desk.

"It's important" she begged. Shota sighed and got up from his sleeping bag trying to ignore the students watching them.

"Tenya is in charge when I'm gone" He walked over to her.

"... Don't die," he said as he closed the door. As the teachers walked away they could hear Tenya tell everyone to stay seated and finish their tests bakugou then interrupted him yelling at him to sit down and shut up.

"Toshinori might have to watch them," she said as they walked down the hall.

"Why is that, and what's so important that you barged in like that" He responded in his usual monotone voice.

"Naomasa called, Mic got hit with a quirk on patrol"

"Is he okay, what happened?" He spoke suddenly sounding worried.

"He said he's fine and that we had to go get him from the station," she said, sounding a little worried herself, and with perfect timing, she saw All might.

"What's th-" He started but got cut off by Kayama.

"Toshi!"

"Hello, midnight, eraser what do you need" He responded as the pair walked over.

"We were wondering if you could watch 1A while we step out"

"Of course, what's wrong?"

"I'll tell you later" a couple of minutes went by as All might contemplated.

"All right then, see you too later" He spoke waving at the two as they left.

"Bye" shota quietly said as they left

"As I was saying, what's the quirk he got hit with?"

"I don't know," she says while turning on the car.

"What do you mean by that?"

"He hanged up before I could ask"

"What did he say"

"He said that mic was fine only a couple of scrapes but the thing he said before he hung up was 'don't touch that I'm guessing that's what you meant" He hummed in acknowledgement

"Good morning Naomasa" Kayama waved as they entered the station.

"Hello guys" He responded, handing some papers to someone.

"Where's Mic," Shota said getting straight to the point. Nao showed them over to one of the interrogation rooms where Mic was. It was an understatement to say shota was shocked but then again anyone would be as confused if they saw their friend who is an adult as a kid. The thing that worried and confused him. the most though was the fact that he was quiet, super quiet not even a hum.

"Hello Hizashi" Nao softy said, Mic jumped in response turning to face them, Mic has always been a jumpy person so it wasn't that surprising but it felt ... off.

"I was hoping you guys could help me ask him some questions, he hasn't responded to me or my coworkers" Nao continued, Shota wasn't paying attention instead he was looking at Hizashi, he had to admit seeing him sitting in a chair with his legs close too his chest holding a bird stuffed animal was adorable, his hair was down with his eyes slightly covered by his bangs, the shirt he saw wareing was way too big on him being a soft pink colour- he thoughts had been interrupted by Kayama speaking up.

"Why'd you hang up," she said ignoring his question.

"One of Mic's sidekicks was also hit by the quirk and was trying to get something off of a shelf almost falling" as if the kid heard him there was a soft knocking on the door, shota hadn't even noticed it had been closed. Nao opened the door and there stood a kid only a little shorter than Mic was right now.

"You promised I could see him now-" the kid spoke stopping when he noticed the two other adults in the room, he stood blinking confused as to who they were.

"Hello, Ren. These are my friends Shota and Nemuri, their heros" after hearing the last part he got supper excited.

"Heros!" He said in aw, Nao had already told the kids that they were heros that got hit with a quirk but it was still shocking to him.

"Shota?" The blond quietly said that the heros could barely hear him.

"Whoa! So you can talk!" Ren said as he jumped over to him which caused the blond to scoot back in the chair. Shota turned to him letting the younger boy know he acknowledged him.

"I remember that name"

"I don't know why though" he responded getting slightly quieter with each sentence.

"Me too!" Ren said leaning with his hands on the arm of the chair zashi was sitting in.

"Aww aren't they adorable" she cooed.

"Can we bring Ren with us?"

'why' shota thought dealing with 1A is enough of a hassle.

"I don't see why not" he responded to her.

"How long will the quirk last," she said looking back at the boys, Zashi was leaning as far away as he could from the louder kid while staying in the chair.

"We don't know" He responded after telling Ren to back up a bit.

"we are hoping it's not permanent"

It took a while to get Hizashi to trust them, Ren was already in the car waiting with kayama. It had gotten later and the younger blond was too tired to protest when shota picked him up, he and Nao said their goodbyes, and said he would call when they found out more about the quirk,  Hizashi had already fallen asleep by the time they got to the car. It turns out that by asking Ren is 4 and a half [he was very prististant about the "Half" part] and Hizashi is 6. The car ride was pretty uneventful other than Ren taking. He fell asleep when they were around Half way to school. It was dark out.

"So where is Ren going to stay," Kayama asked as she held him walking to the school dorms.

"And mic" Shota continued her sentence. Holding Hizashi, Zashi had his arms around shotas neck so he didn't fall.

"It's obvious He's staying with you" she spoke back quickly although it looked like he was against the idea he wasn't, he'd much rather watch him than let someone else watch him, he wanted to know what was going on, yes people change but mic still acts the way he did I high school so he hasn't changed much,   shota thought mic was always cheerful, happy   and  loud
