When Sadie came back from class I was sitting on my bed on my phone. It had been a little over an hour of peace and a quiet until I heard the lock on the door twist and eventually creak open.

"So..." she stretched out the word as she ran to sit on my bed. "Aaron you said?" She sat down in front of me and smiled.

"How was class?" I asked. I turned off my phone and put it face down on the bed.

"How was Aaron?" She persisted on making me laugh.

"Well..." I thought back to him and the thought itself made me smile.

"He was attractive for sure-"

"What'd he look like."

Sadie was older then me by exactly one month. Her birthday was August 16th, mine was September 16th. We were both 19 turning 20 yet Sadie had the same excitement of a middle school girl once it comes to boys.

"He was tall. And he had black hair - which I'm pretty sure was dyed-"

"So what?" She asked and furrowed her eyebrows.

"No nothing. I was just saying." I smiled at her and looked back at me with wide eyes.

"We'll go on!"

"He had brown eyes and was nice...but."

"But? But what?"

"He's a math major..."

She hissed and made a face. It was the face of someone who had just eaten a lemon.

"But I feel like everything else transcends that y'know? He we really sweet. And he has a few siblings too."

"Oh? So you actually had interest in talking to this guy?"

I furrowed my eyebrows and made a confused face. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"You never care about guys. You're always too busy with school."

"I care about guys, but I'm here to form a future for myself not to hook up."

"Yeah but what if you hook up with your potential soulmate?" She smiled "Y'know, like Aaron."

"Okay stop. I have one class with him. Calm the fuck down." I laughed and she shrugged her shoulders and leaned on the wall.

"I still wanna meet someone. I think life is so boring if you don't have someone to mess around with, or just to hold y'know?

Truth is about Sadie, she went through a 4 year long break up right before freshman year. They were together all throughout high school, but he went to college in California. Sadie fought him on it, she wanted to make long distance work, he didn't. He didn't want to tie himself down, nor did he want to fall harder for a girl who lived across the country. He said it was impractical, but she said letting him go was the biggest mistake she's ever made... but that was over a year ago, she's better now. But she's touch and sex deprived.

I, on other hand was in a relationship towards the end of high school. It was not a good relationship, and I don't plan on getting in another one. I'm better off alone, focusing on school. I'm old enough where I don't need validation from others, but I'm young enough where I need people to lean on.

Maybe I'll never find anyone and I'll die alone. I feel like that life suits me better.
