Y/N couldn't do much more than speak those words. His whole body was frozen, and he was glad his face was hidden. The only thing they could really see were his e/c eyes.
He found it hard to even choke out the question, and the entire class was by now staring at him in group silence.
Y/N stared each of them in the eyes emotionlessly, but his insides were fluttering.
This was a mistake.
Heroes could come out of any of the nearby houses, down any of the roads, or even out of U.A itself.
For a few seconds, nobody spoke. Y/N stood alone, under the wordless accusing gazes of his previous friends.
His face twitched and he threw up his hands. "What the hell do you want?"
There was no response, and Y/N removed his mask with one hand, the other clenching into a fist. "You guys blew up my house and stole my stuff, and you want to meet?!"
He saw a few of the students' faces contort slightly, and something hit him. "You're scared of me?"
This isn't what I'd hoped, but it looks like it's all I'm going to get.
Y/N spotted a tuft of blond spiky hair and started laughing.
I guess I can play the villain here. If they really think that badly of me.
"Even you Bakugo?" Y/N's laugh was menacing, wild, and he looked on with newfound contempt as Mineta took a step back.
The blond was unusually quiet. "Like I would be scared of an extra like you."
Y/N nodded thoughtfully. "Come give me a handshake then."
There was a short silence, the class holding their breath as Y/N extended his hand.
He didn't particularly want to kill Bakugo right here and now, but if Y/N got annoyed, he would do it without a second thought.
Bakugo was in a tough position, Y/N knew. If he backed down, he would lose face and his pride. If he took it, there was a high chance of death.
The boy swallowed, for once not so challenging, and extended his hand.
Y/N smiled. "Glad to see I still have a bit of trust. I could kill every one of you within a minute. I wouldn't need a sly trick like this to do it."Bakugo's hand wavered, and Y/N quit his mind games, taking a step forwards and reaching for the other boy's hand.
He was about to make contact when a green blur flashed between them, knocking Y/N's hand to the side and pushing Bakugo away from touch.
"Kacchan, no!"
The blond had landed in a roll to get immediately to his feet. He spat on the ground. "Damn Deku..."
Y/N was... somewhat amused by Midoriya's lame attempt to save Bakugo. "Well, that wasn't very trusting of you, was it?"
Midoriya had turned to face him, small amounts of lightning flickering across his body. "We just asked you here to talk, not so you could try to kill one of us!"
Y/N tilted his head in question. "I was offering a formality."
"No, you weren't."
"Yes I was."
"No, we all know your quirk now."
Y/N sighed. "What does that have to do with giving a simple handshake? I'm not so sly to do that."
Yaoyorozu came to break it up, presumably to diffuse the tension. "Anyway, how have you been, Y/N?"
Some of the class gaped at her bravery, Bakugo just scoffing.
