Chapter One: The Bean

─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───

Hinata Hyuuga stood in front of the mirror inside the bathroom of the office building. She applied lip gloss and gave a quick glance at her outfit. Her best friend had given her the rundown of how you're supposed to dress for work. She'd had to rummage through her closet, pushing aside her beautiful couture pieces and picked out some slacks that still had the tags on. It must've been from her shopping boredom because at the time she hadn't even known where she would've used it.

Today was Hinata's first day of her new job as the front desk secretary at the architecture firm. She wasn't too nervous. She was a confident person by nature, being a Hyuuga had given her many luxuries in life. Yet here she was, having to resort to being a secretary. She blew her bangs out of her face and finished applying her mascara.

She was hoping to be able to get some Uchiha or one of their clients under her spell. Maybe showing her father that she was dating someone of high status, she'd be back in his good graces. It was his fault she was so spoiled. So what if she didn't want to be in the medical field like every stuffy Hyuuga? She was made to be a trophy wife and an omega. She knew her worth.

During the interview with Obito, they'd asked her if she knew Neji of all people. She hadn't seen that loser since he was in middle school. Though the question made her curious as to why they wanted to know. He wasn't anything special and the only reason he had been allowed to keep the last name, according to her father, was because he was his brother's son.

She took a deep breath and exited the elevator past the double glass doors. A pretty blond girl introduced herself as Ino. She checked out Ino's outfit, which was nice she supposed, but definitely not as expensive as hers. Ino started giving her the rundown of her tasks, and she groaned internally. She'd have to actually work. She wouldn't even be a secretary, she was technically Ino's assistant.

"You're bright and early!" Ino handed Hinata a hot coffee cup. "You'll be accompanying me to the weekly morning meeting. Take as many notes as you can, sometimes the smallest details made a huge difference."

Hinata placed her purse inside a cabinet, like hell she would put it on the floor, and sat next to Ino. She babbled on about the work and Hinata did her best to follow along. Working was so tiring. It seriously couldn't be that hard to be a secretary.

Sasuke was bored. Unbelievably so. The weekly meetings always drained him. It mostly consisted of Shisui excitedly telling the staff what the goals were for this week, Obito updating them with the current projects, and Itachi adding commentary.

Technically he didn't have to be here. He handled the financial things. Financial things that most of the staff didn't have to bother with. All of the employees under his section were caught up with a simple email.

Sasuke's phone vibrated and his frown turned into a smirk.

Naruto the love of my life: Hey handsome

Hey

The blinding smile Naruto had given him when he saw that Sasuke hadn't changed the contact name he'd chosen as a joke was engraved in his brain every time he saw the name.

Naruto the love of my life: I bet you're boooored

You know me so well

Naruto the love of my life: I know all about my grumpy husband :D
