"I love you, you know that right?", he whispered as he pressed a kiss to your lips.
It was soft and gentle, lighting up your heart like a ray of sunshine.
You just hummed, falling into it the millionth time over.
He gently pulled you in by the waist.
"Goodnight love."
Your eyes fluttered open, as you scrambled up.
The cityscape shone against the night sky now, and your laptop lay on the table, patiently waiting for the next line of code.
It wasn't real.
His message.
You quickly fumbled around for your phone and groaned when you saw it.
Three hours ago.
In the middle of running on two hours of sleep, a boundary condition that hated you and him, you'd forgotten to text back.
But first, you needed wine.
The scarlet escape sloshed around in a glass as you leaned back in your chair.
The cursor blinked in the empty message box as you sighed.
Three hours later, you still didn't know what to say.
Are you free?
You were always free for him.
And you hated it.
LM is typing......
Your breath caught.
Are you ignoring me?
Your stomach turned as you heard his voice echo in your head.
You started typing
Of course not.
Then what is it?
I've just been losing my mind over you.
Over the way
You're not mine.
I can't do this anymo|
You shook your head as you pressed backspace.
Nothing. I'm free.
LM is typing.......
You downed the last of your wine as you got up.
He was still typing.
An invitation couldn't take that long to type right?
What if he was asking about you-
