"What did you just say?"

Your eyes widened, as you quickly wiped away your tears and turned to see him standing right there.

It was scary how quickly you put up an act.

"Oh nothing, I was just thinking about that cat at that shelter. You know the one who has a thing against me-?", you said, nonchalantly.

He walked up to you, handing you your phone.

He loved you so much too.

But he was terrified of making it real.

So he did,

The exact opposite of what his heart wanted to do.

He accepted your lie.

He faked a laugh, "He'll come around someday. Here's your phone, you left it behind."

You looked at him, murmuring thanks as he walked back in.

A knot formed in your throat as the tears started welling up again.

Why didn't you just tell him the truth?

And happily open the door for him to leave?

You sighed as you walked into the elevator.

For the next few days, the two of you barely spoke to each other, both reeling from their fantasy coming true for a night,

But that didn't mean nothing happened.

You kept an eye on him, making sure he was okay.

His dark circles had started to disappear.

He must've been getting some sleep.

He kept an eye on you too, because while he was too scared to put a label on it, he still wanted to take care of you.

So seeing you struggle so badly with that one part for too long, he finally pulled you aside one day.

"Y/n you need help."

"Do not", you waved him off.

"C'mon let me help. You know two geniuses are better than one right?"

You looked at him, as he gave you a grin.

You sighed and agreed.

A part of you jumped at the chance for him to guide you through.

And he wasn't wrong.

Two were better than one.

The entire situation with him had taken a larger toll on you than expected because you'd made so many silly mistakes which he quickly pointed out.

"God, y/n you really were right there all this time. I'm happy I asked you to let me help you, jeez", he said, leaning back in his chair as you sighed a breath of relief.

"Thank you so much", you said, feeling much lighter, now that one of the biggest projects on your mind was over.

"Don't mention it", he smiled as he got up.

"Wait Minho", you said, and he paused.

You bit your lip, wondering if this would be too soon.

But you sort of missed him. A lot.

"Do you want to come over sometime?"

He blinked, "When?"

A familiar feeling overtook your body, "Today? 8pm?"

"Okay."

As 8 pm came closer, your thoughts started to boil.

Every memory scalded you, as you tried to shrug it off.
