Chandler Bing • Friends to Lovers

Chapter 1

This is my first story so... be nice :) Hope you enjoy it...

It was a cold night in New York and Hailey decided to warm herself up by drinking a large cup of coffee. A beautiful coffee shop full of Christmas decorations caught her eye, inside she could see a group of friends laughing on an orange couch.

"This looks cosy" she thinks to herself before entering. She sat at the counter and ordered a cup of coffee.

While she was waiting for her order a blond fun-looking woman with a guitar got up on stage and introduced herself
"Hello, Merry Christmas everybody! I'm Phoebe and I'm gonna be playing a few Christmas songs that I've written"

The quirky blond starts singing and in less than five minutes half of the 'audience' had left. Hailey didn't understand everything she was singing about but she's got some trauma, that's for sure.
Phoebe leaves the stage and is welcomed by her friends who all act supportive while she looks oblivious to what her singing caused.

Hailey finishes her cup of coffee and as she's about to leave she hears a familiar voice:

"Hailey? Is that you?"
She turns around and her dark brown eyes meet a brunet boy. She soon recognizes him and a warm feeling enters her heart.

" Chandler? My god! How are you?"
She gets up to hug him.

" Great now! What are you doing here?" He hugs her tightly

" I just moved to an apartment near here."

"Shut up! I live right above here"

" What? That's great!"
They've both got huge smiles on their faces and they look at each other with nothing but joy in their eyes.

" Oh hey, I'm here with a few friends"

They walk up to them and he introduces her to each one:
" This is Monica, Ross, Rachel, Joey-"

"How you doin'?" escapes the Italian's mouth

"Don't!" says Chandler abruptly, Haley doesn't understand this reaction but brushes it off

" And this is-" he points to the blond singer

" Oh yes, Phoebe"
Phoebe smiles

" Always good to meet a fan" she says

" Everybody this is Hailey!" Chandler says
" She's a childhood friend of mine and one of my best friends, and she's just moved here"

" Oh, to what building?" asks Monica genuinely curious

" The one right across the street."

" Ugly Naked Guy's building!" they all chant

"Sorry?"

"Oh trust me you'll know eventually" reaffirms the brunet with a smirk.

" So hey, do you want to come over have a cup of coff-"  he realizes what he's saying and they both chuckle " Or just chat"

" I would absolutely love that but right now I can't, sorry"

" Oh no, it's okay. Some other time then." he suggests "God, I've missed you " he confesses

"Tomorrow then, I missed you too" she hugs him " Nice meeting all of you!" The group all wave goodbye.
" Bye Muriel" she says before turning her back and leaving

He looks at the group panicking

"Muriel?" Joey says confused

Although Hailey's put him in an embarrassing situation he can't help but smile to himself.

Hailey gets home and is welcomed by a dozen boxes filled with her belongings
She looks at them

" That's future me's problem"

She takes her clothes off leaving a trail of clothes on the floor and gets in the shower. The water is very hot, so hot it could burn her skin but she doesn't care.
She gets out of the shower in a towel.

Meanwhile in Monica and Rachel's apartment :

The friend group gets in the apartment, Chandler walks in front of them looking annoyed while they all can't stop laughing

"Muriel!" They laugh

"When we thought your name couldn't get any worse it did!"

" All right, all right, settle down" Chandler says

"Ok, ok, I'm going home" says Phoebe

" Me too, bye Muriel" says Ross

They all say their goodbyes and leave. Monica and Rachel go to their rooms
" Goodnight!"

" I'm going to the bathroom, I almost peed myself from laughter" Joey starts to go to his apartment

" Why don't you go here?"

" Let's just say I already went there..."

Chandler makes a disgusted face. He sits on the couch and turns on the TV
" 'Let's' Potato Chips to share with your closest friends for only 1.99$!"

This add reminds him of his best friend. He looks through the window looking for her. Ugly naked guy's not there. A few apartments away from his he sees a young woman in a towel.

"Is it... I shouldn't look" he thinks to himself. He's never thought of Haley in a romantic way much less in a sexual way, but he admitted to himself that she looked good tonight.... Really good. Actually that's a lie, he had thought of her sexually, but he blames it on teenage hormones.

Hailey takes her towel off and Chandler puts a hand on his eyes immediately. He sighs in relief for not having seen anything.

He turns off the TV and storms out of the girls apartment and walks right into his fast with his hand still on his face

"Hey, are you okay?" asks his roommate

Chandler responds with inaudible sounds and closes his bedroom door.
